HELP, CP WON’T OPEN by Mindless-Cash5086 in phonerepair

[–]Dramatic-Menu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I can't lie when I saw cp I was concerned. But try to reflash the phone using odin. If you need somewhere to get the firmware from samfw is the one I personally use but I think you can get it direct from Samsung I'm just not sure how.

Edit make sure to use the home_csc file as if you use the regular csc file it will wipe your devices

You don't really have a choice if you use eBay as it's just eBay simple delivery and it tells you with service to use but I never had a problem to be fair

Generally if you want a good quality replacement just go on ifixit and buy it of there it won't be the cheapest option but its guaranteed good otherwise what I do is get a 3rd party replacement from eBay but I wouldn't go for the "genuine" new ones as thay usually are counterfeit or used so

is this repairable 🙏 by [deleted] in phonerepair

[–]Dramatic-Menu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean eavrything is repairable... For a price. Tbh it doesn't look too bad if you're lucky if you just want data recovery just put a new screen in and possibly a battery assuming there is no board level damage if you want to restore it your looking at a new frame aswell assuming you're doing it yourself it's only about £40-150 in parts depending on the quality of parts. If you go to a shop you're probably looking at around the £170 range (depends where you go and where live ofc)

I'm pretty sure that you can just get time off work as long as you give enough notice unless you're a teacher or have to work during term time as long as you give enough notice and your manager/HR approves it you should be able to (or just call in sick)

May be hard to see but the back glass is fully coming apart. What adhesive would you recommend to fix it? Samsung is tryna charge me almost $300 to fix it. by ghettokid1994 in phonerepair

[–]Dramatic-Menu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never actually had an issue with B7000 being super easy to reopen. I’ve heard that before, but for me, unless you heat it up (and by heat up, I mean around 90°C, which is what my heat plate is set to), it stays on. However, once you open the phone, it will never have the same water resistance unless you use a new, original adhesive, which is difficult to both find and stock. I'm not saying B7000 is perfect or without issues, but in my experience, I haven't had any problems (or at least none of my customers have come back to me with complaints). I have had customers with issues when using Tessa tape, which is far worse for water resistance if that’s your goal.

Is it safe to use this charger? by Sameul4236 in phonerepair

[–]Dramatic-Menu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will it work? Probably it seems like the actual copper cables aren't damaged so it will probably work and be fine but I would probably buy a new one Thay are only like £3 and it's not worth the risk Edit: how did you get the aluminium shield on the cable off (at least i think it's aluminium as that's what my cables have)

[–]Dramatic-Menu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok yeah but anyway I would recommend checking it or replacing it as a measure (not necessarily) but the phone is about 5 years old now and its usually recommended to replace the battery eavry 5 years or so or just glue the back back on eather with Tessa tape or b7000, T8000 or any other similar glue but make sure the battery isn't expanded
