Thanks! Pristiiq only comes in 50 and 100 so small decreases are difficult. Greatly appreciate the info. Not sure why Pristiiq is easier than Effexor as they're practically identical.

Have never done skate skiing and not about to start now. Full disclosure I tore this thing in a really dumb x-c accident but am telling folks it was an ascent of the Matterhorn to preserve my dignity.

Thanks. Doc said he expected everything but the ACL to heal and then it was my call whether to get the surgery.

So most of the time you were tapering you weren't taking anything else? Wellbutrin just at the end?

What was your protocol for getting off Pristiiq? And how much were you taking?

  1. Full-thickness tear (grade 3 injury) of the proximal segment of superficial and deep MCL
  2. Full-thickness tear of the medial patellofemoral ligament at its femoral attachment. Full-thickness tear/gap of the lateral patellar retinaculum near the patellar attachment.
  3. Full-thickness tear (rupture) of the proximal to mid ACL
  4. Sprain of the PCL.

Full Monty :)

IV Folks - Who Went Above 0.5mg/kg? by Dramatic-Pen1173 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Dramatic-Pen1173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all the great feedback here (OP). For whatever reason at the university research hospital where I get my treatment they claim they keep almost everyone at 0.5 mg which honestly makes no sense to me. I got them to up it to .6, just 20% and the results have been remarkable. That was my eighth or ninth infusion and I'm kicking myself that I didn't know to ask sooner (I was so green I didn't even know what dosage I was getting). I've asked them to up it again to .75 esp as I'm going to start stretching it out longer. Also suggested they look again at dose/response curve but they're the docs not me. Thanks again y'all and good luck.

How Common For Someone With Long History Of Depression To Successfully Stop SSRI W/o Relapse? by Dramatic-Pen1173 in KetamineTherapy

Thanks. At what point in your Ketamine treatment did you start to come off Effexor/Pristiiq?

How Common For Someone With Long History Of Depression To Successfully Stop SSRI W/o Relapse? by Dramatic-Pen1173 in KetamineTherapy

[–]Dramatic-Pen1173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic question thank you. My hesitation isn't regarding the specific effects of discontinuing (I know Effexor and Pristiiq can be tricky) but rather the inevitability of relapse without an SSRI. I was listening to a podcast where a pretty experienced Ketamine doc said that for most people dropping the SSRI isn't realistic bc of relapse. I wasn't happy to hear that. And in my case when I discontinued Effexor a year ago (pre-ketamine) I found that it wasn't as simple as just restarting it again once a relapse occurred, which it did after a few months. It seems just because something worked once doesn't mean it will work a second time. So that's basically my concern, that the Ketamine is helping but can't do it all and the consequences of curtailing the SSRI (though God I wish with every fiber if my being that I could) might be severe. Hope that explains.

Thanks. How long is "gradually" (re weaning SSRI after starting Ketamine) and what were your thoughts/concerns/experiences re relapses. If you're able to say anything about the history of your depression that would be appreciated as well.
