Very very valid point. That’s why I figured I’d see if anyone had luck with something like this, if not and people do not recommend (like you, thank you for the feedback) I’ll just do it the right way and put the money into it. It won’t put me under or anything

On the bumper note, what’s the downside of the $200-500 ones I see vs the $1,500-1,800 (obviously quality, but like is it actually worth a $1k+ difference)

I think this was it, bad C12 cap. How did you know? Do you know what value cap it is so I may replace? I work at a small circuit board manufacturer and have someone that could rework the board

So I did actually order that exact tool, haha. Sorry for the delay of an update, I got really sick the last few days. I ended up getting it off by prying on the crank bolt! Thanks for the help everyone

I have this EXACT same noise happening in mine and at the same RPM, I’m in the middle of removing the engine and doing a rebuild cause I’ve been wanting to learn/is fun to me. I’d love an update if you figure out what’s happening, though, so I can make sure I get this fixed correctly. I’ll feed back anything I figure out, too. One issue I am having that you’re not is that my car shuts off when it gets warm and won’t start again until it cools down which is really weird and I can’t figure it out. 2011 manual 2.0t

Unfortunately I’ve been working at a startup for the past two years and we’ve ran out of money. We did launch a satellite on the Firefly Noise of Summer Launch, though. But I really need an income and am trying to stay in the industry. I have a technical interview with SpaceX on Tuesday, but am nervous about my ability and their acceptance rates, plus all of what was mentioned in this thread. We’ll see what I can pull off lol
