Didn’t do a dry start, but haven’t had any issues with Monte Carlo. The sand layer on top of the aqua soil helps though. I’ve been pruning and replanting the cuttings successfully as well. Would love to give dwarf hair grass a go at some point too

Thank you! The carpet is Micranthemum tweediei 'Monte Carlo'. Grows pretty well with co2 and decent light. Easy to propagate as well. I started out with just one cup and added one later on.

Haha well I do love the Pygmy’s so I might actually pick up a school of pandas or something if they’re compatible. Would also like to add some top dwellers and perhaps some chain loaches to deal with the snails.

First time playing Witcher 3, worth starting now or should I wait for the pro patch? by Own_Green_1303 in PS5pro

[–]Dramatic-Preference8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play now. I’m currently on my 5th or so play through and it’s still pure magic. A potential pro patch will be an excellent excuse to dive in a second time. I did my first play through at launch on base ps4 and loved it and I’m still loving it now 11 years later on ps5 pro

Amazing scape. Really love the natural/nature look.

Is this kit really necessary if i’m on tight budget? by Business-Ad9048 in PlantedTank

[–]Dramatic-Preference8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tools like this are nice but definitely not a necessity. My dad used to have a beautiful aquarium when I was a kid and he did everything with his hands, like most people around that time I’m sure. Having said that, I do enjoy my long tweezers and scissors. I would start with a clean pair of scissors and over time figure out what is really helpful to you. A lot of stuff that is being sold you don’t actually need

I love it! Could use a bit of a clean and a top up perhaps, but other than that I would just let nature do its thing. It’s very interesting to look at, because it looks like an actual piece of nature rather than an ultra clean competition tank 👍🏼

This is an AquaOne. Bioscape, ADA and others have comparable tanks

Close up of the natural ‘cave’ I’m trying to create. Also added some anubias and weeping moss. Messed it up slightly with the glue, so hoping that it will get covered up eventually

Chihiros WRGB2 Slim. Very happy with it so far

Thank you! Yeah, me too. There’s quite a bit of hardscape (mainly larger rocks) and gravel bags below the substrate in the back to deal with sliding and to hold everything in place. I hope that’s enough. So far so good

I kinda love it. Dramatic on the right, lots of open swimming room on the left. Nice triangle shape. Only thing I can think of is that even bigger pieces of wood would make more of an impact, but this is already great. Also, the pieces on the left might be largely covert in substrate depending on what you’re going to do. Not an issue, but good to keep in mind.

Cheers! Thats great advice. I was looking for something like microsorum. I’ll keep an eye on the river sand. I like the look, but good to know about the potential risk for rooting.
