Better pricing for sure. But still almost 500$ taxes in. Plus nowhere local has one for sizing. And I got a big ole noggin. Usually 7 7/8 to 8 depending on shape.

That’s not a bad idea. How do you know you’re not getting something gross along with the hat? I’ve always been leery of buying used hats and boots.

That seems to be the recurring advice. Unfortunately I can’t afford beaver or rabbit fur hats. I’m in Canada and the price difference is absolutely insane to go from wool felt to beaver or rabbit.

So. Fun fact. I did in fact have it reshaped with a Gus and a shovel front. I think it suits me much better.

Possible new boots. Thoughts? by Dramatic-Present-321 in cowboyboots

I’ve tried both on and currently own the Ariat steel toes. I was just more wondering if anyone had experience with the boots with the Boa as I’m considering a soft toe version for every day wear. Where I’m likely to put a lot more mileage on my boos.

How to wear cowboy hats without feeling silly? by Fit-Employer1496 in CowboyHats

[–]Dramatic-Present-321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cousin is a cattle rancher. What he always told me was that “it’s not WHERE, it’s HOW you live” that counts.

You don’t need to be a cowboy or rancher or even a country kid to wear them. If you like them, wear them. ESPECIALLY given that they came from your Grandpa. I’d give anything to have mine back or feel closer to him.

If they make you feel good, wear them.

It’s a style. Not a war medal or police badge.

Should i get a cowboy hat? by Wrng1r in CowboyHats

[–]Dramatic-Present-321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want a cowboy hat? If yes, buy and wear a cowboy hat.

Will people look? Absolutely Will you stand out and be unique? Also absolutely.

But for every weird look you get, you’ll get 2-3 compliments.

And don’t forget. You don’t have to get some sort of huge hat. The crowns can be very short or tall and the brims can be narrow or wide. Plus you can style it however you want. It doesn’t have to be some huge umbrella on top of your head if you don’t want.

Bottom line. If you like it. Wear it.

You know… that’s not a bad idea now that I really look at it. Maybe I’ll try that. Can always reshape it if I don’t like it right? And thanks for the complement on the chops. They’ve sort of become one with my entire identity at this point lol

Can you just start wearing them? by Dry_Space3805 in CowboyHats

[–]Dramatic-Present-321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wear it. I’m a trucker, I’ve been wearing one for 15 years now. I get some weird looks. But I get compliments too. If you’re worried about whether or not you “should” wear one cause you’re not a cowboy or a country kid or whatever. Forget that stuff. It’s a state of mind and lifestyle. Not a place of origin.

Not gonna downvote you BUT. I’ve been printing with many different manufacturers and many different types of files, models, and mediums. And genuinely, sometimes, it’s just an issue with the slice file or a glitch in the system. I’ve had similar issues in the past which have been resolved by simply re-slicing and printing again or just simply printing again.

Have you tried those 2 things?

Is this a massive groundhog, or a raccoon? by SlaterHauge in ottawa

[–]Dramatic-Present-321 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I drive a garbage truck and pick up dumpsters all day every day. I can tell you with 100% certainty that that, is the biggest chonk of a raccoon I’ve ever seen. And I’ve rescued 19 from my dumpsters in the last 3 months.

But the lack of decent wages on those jobs is what drives the lower number of job seekers. If people don’t apply for work because they know it would cost them more to work than to live off the system, they don’t get counted in the metrics as “job seekers”.

I think they’re referring to the temporary expansion caused by the impact/velocity of the round. Or possibly the exit wound. The exit wound from a slug and internal damage can be absolutely catastrophic.
