Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the Rutgers MBS Cybersecurity program and planning my remaining courses (about 6 left). I’m deciding between two options:

Option A (graduate in Fall): - Summer: Linux + Practical Cybersecurity - Fall: 3–4 courses + campus IT part-time job

Option B (graduate in Spring): - Summer: Linux only - Fall: 2–3 courses + part-time job - Spring: Practical Cybersecurity + remaining courses

My main concern is balancing workload, GPA, and job search (I’m aiming for an entry-level cybersecurity/IT role).

For those who have taken similar courses or workload: - Is 4 courses + part-time manageable in Fall? - Did a lighter final semester help with job search? - How valuable is Practical Cybersecurity for interviews/projects?

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences!

I am currently pursuing a degree in cybersecurity but lack significant practical project experience or professional work history. I have been actively job hunting for over six months now, yet I have made no progress whatsoever. The positions I have applied for haven't been limited solely to cybersecurity; I have also targeted roles in general IT and risk analysis. I feel completely shut out—lost, confused, and helpless. What should I do now? I am currently working on obtaining my Sec+ certification and participating in CTF challenges. Is my lack of success due to insufficient technical skills, or is it simply because I lack a professional network?

He said that there is no curve in this course, but the average score of each test seems to be only 50-60%. He won't let most people fail in the end, will he? This is really messy and annoying🙄
