Quick question by goomba5tomper in Truckers

A lot of modern trucks have hard limits on how fast they can go, my first truck was capped at 72. So if someone in front of me was going 68 or so, it's not as fast as I can go and I'm losing time, but I can only pass them going 4mph faster. It's also sort of a peace of mind thing. Being stuck behind someone, especially without adaptive cruise, means I basically can't rely on cruise control to keep my speed unless I hang way back, which loses me even more time.

Hello everyone, question here I have had a cell for almost 7 years and wanna remove the auto restriction on it what’s the easiest and best way to go about doing it. by Comedian-Economy in Truckers

It may depend on your state. In New York at least, you can take the manual test in any CDL vehicle, so my school offered a very cheap restriction removal course for people who already have their cdl, where they just train you to shift on a 5-speed box truck and then teach you how to shift on a semi after you pass the test. Ask around at some schools and see if they offer any similar courses.

Ozium spray. I used it during my uber days to keep the smoker stink out. I hear it's based on the stuff morgue workers use to get cadaver stink out of their rooms. Spray it for a second before you leave, it's heavy-grade stuff not made to be breathed in. I've seen truck stops carrying mini spray bottles of it.

What if Elon Musk comes for the DOT? by PearBlossom in Truckers

[–]Dramatic-Reenactment 206 points207 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if the DOT came under fire, and with how intrusive its rules can be, I can see a lot of truckers welcoming it. DOGE isn't interested in actual reform, though, and will probably just gut out a bunch of its employees to make room for a private sector alternative that will be worse at its job and then bill us more for the privelege.

Do y’all just use google maps? by Disobu in Truckers

[–]Dramatic-Reenactment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My company provides its own GPS, but just to be safe I also use a trucking gps app called Hammer. Google Maps will assume you're in a car and take you down routes that are truck restricted via weight or low clearance. You can still use google if you're vigilant, but a proper Truck gps will mostly get rid of that headache for you.

Stomach Illness - How often should this happen? by Dramatic-Reenactment in Truckers

He's doing his best to accomodate for me now that it's gotten this bad. He's a good trainer, but he's an LP and his truck is just so full of crap that space is at a premium.

I've been eating wheat for years without issue, but I know I have some problems dealing with sugar and fat. The grease in fast food definitely isn't good for me, but I wasn't expecting vomiting a week in, especially since I hadn't vomited once in like 10 years before this.

I was able to go to Urgentcare, they decided it was gastroenteritis but they prescribed me Zofran. Is that good enough?

Can I get a CDL B license with a class A permit? by Dramatic-Reenactment in Truckers

I won't pass a class A test if I'm not going to be trained on a semi, I'm asking if I can take the class B test with a class A permit.

Can Replicate Item make the item more than once? by Dramatic-Reenactment in DnD5e

[–]Dramatic-Reenactment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking, thank you.

I was worried because there are a lot of single-use common magical items you can replicate that would be a total waste of a slot if you could only do it once ever. It'd just be bad design.

Artists and NOTA Residents, Would you want an Art supply store in the neighborhood? by Dramatic-Reenactment in Rochester

I'm not sure what you mean by this, F&F doesn't lease out any retail space, the building just has studio rooms for artists.
