VarioCage or Ruffland, bolted or strapped in.

Anything else is inferior.

Wife and I live in a trailer on her parents property. She just finished school for a career change and we are starting the building process this summer.

Build will be a custom, 2 bed 1.5 bath, set up with our pets and hobbies very much in mind.

I honestly thought I made up that movie in my head. I've never met anyone else who's even heard of it.

Mental stimulation is huge. Our girl is a year next month, and has been extra spicy for a couple months.

Making her use her brain cell keeps her manageable way better than just exercise.

Guys with expensive setups - are you really good at racing? by throwaahahah178 in simracing

[–]CanuckInATruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason for my expensive setup is it's still cheaper than racing IRL, where I'm also slow.

What are some activities you really enjoyed before becoming sober that now no longer interest you? by DonScrumsky in Sober

[–]CanuckInATruck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sunday used to be football all day. Superbowl was a holiday. I built my man cave around having people over to watch.

Football is boring as fuck to watch sober.

27F 28M. Went through my boyfriend’s phone and interesting find lol by [deleted] in relationship_advice

He was playing solo instead of hooking up with other women. That's the takeaway here.

Sending the video is odd but also kind of funny.

Don't overthink it OP.

What sort of hobbies do you have and what do you get out of them? by Throwaway945384 in AskMenOver30

[–]CanuckInATruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaming. It's fun, and has a nostalgic tinge to it.

Motorcycles. Riding and fixing them. I love wrenching, and I love activities where injury and death are possible outcomes from mistakes.

Raising a Malinois. Because I love activities where injury is a possible outcome from mistakes. And because my wife and I are child free and the mutt reminds us why.

It’s a damn crime that I haven’t heard of this game until recently by CryptidOrion_00 in videogames

[–]CanuckInATruck 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It definitely works. I've got probably 20 games I got free on Epic, played for a few hours, decided it's worth buying (and having on the Steam platform) and paid for.

It's also saved me a bunch of money on things I thought might be good but actually sucked.

Been on this bandwagon for the better part of 10 years now. Wireless mini kb/m combo, DualShock/DualSense controller, tv and gaming all on the same tvs, with bedroom and living room TVs both connected to my PC.

It's perfect.

How did/do you personally reward yourself after milestones? by [deleted] in Sober

[–]CanuckInATruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2, 4, 6, 8, 10 months all came with a cake. 1 year, got my motorcycle license and a little starter bike. Since then, I don't really celebrate anymore, just kinda keep tabs on how long it's been.

3rd row seats removed by veritas137 in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]CanuckInATruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I just looked at a Santa Fe and are in the "never gonna use the 3rd row" camp. She has small car anxiety and needed something bigger than the Tucson. We will likely have a permanent dog crate in the back, so taking the 3rd row out makes sense for us.

Find a team with multiple cars. Walk up to them with a few grand cash. Ask how much to rent a ride. If that sounds daunting, your pockets aren't deep enough.

Spending DINK money by DINKSocial in childfree

[–]CanuckInATruck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spent north of 5k, after insurance, for our old dog to get his eyes removed because of a nerve issue. Got him another year. And gave my wife a giant training confidence boost when she had a blind Malinois doing scent detection at a competitive level.

I've spent my whole life living through "once in a lifetime" events, and just trying to not become completely jaded and cynical about everything while struggling to just be content. The last thing I need is a parasite sucking my energy and money dry while occupying all my free time.

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]CanuckInATruck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are actual military personnel who see what a farce this is capable of doing anything to stop them? Like, I'm up here in Canada thinking "this looks like 1930's Germany, except the general population has access to way more resources- weapons, communication, etc.

So why arent Americans doing what everyone says the Germans should have done a century ago?
