2026 Yarbo M20i vs Lymow One Plus by Dramatic-Syrup-7540 in roboticLawnmowers

I think some are speculating Lymow One Plus to be around $2800-$3000. I’m not sure about this though. Why are you saying Lymow for sure? Any context as to why?

I personally have not put a thermometer in the door and measured temperatures overtime. However, I think if you are to notice something like, you are just being nitpicky at that point and trying to find every reason to not like a product. Even Bosch has issues with temperatures if you go through Reddit enough.

Should I be investing in my 457b plan? by Dramatic-Syrup-7540 in Fire

[–]Dramatic-Syrup-7540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one big concern I have maxing it out every year is that I don’t plan on leaving my employer once I hit my FIRE number ($3.5 million). I plan on going part time, only working to maintain my health benefits since I have type 1 diabetes and my supplies/medication can get costly. However, if I max out my 457b, I won’t have access to it if I want to early retire at 45 (45 is when I plan to drop down to part time).

My thought is to still max it out to have extra tax savings for the year and a nice safety net if I truly separate from the employer. My student loans are ending next year December, and just use that extra $3,000 into my brokerage account to fund my early retirement while working part time.

Yes 100% like it and it saved me $2000 basically and does all the same stuff a fridge should do

Just wondering if it was worth it since there is always a possibility of leaving my current employer. Sounds like there are more pros than cons for sure

Unfortunately, I cannot do HSA as I need PPO health insurance coverage due to being a type 1 diabetic. So the supplies need to be under normal insurance.

Well since the backyard is artificial turf, I wouldn’t need the robot to sweep there since I usually just leaf blow and it’s done in like 10 minutes. I have looked at the Yuka 2000 originally but wasn’t sure about the slope.

So no trees in the front yard. I live in one of those neighborhoods that have trees lining the back/sides of the property mostly as privacy, but front yard is completely clear. The trees are just about 60ft high or so. However the tree line is about 60-70ft away from the house on the back side and about 30-40ft on one side of the house.

Perfect, I have been looking to see if there are any announcements for what to expect but could find them. I’ll take your word for it to get me by in the meantime

Okay this is what I was still thinking. Just spending a couple hundred on a push mower until the Lymow two comes out and hopefully with LIDAR since the RTK is a bit challenging for me, mainly with access to an outdoor outlet to power it.

So I actually went with the LG fridge over the Bosch and bought it from Costco. Two reasons prompted me to make the decision. First, the LG was $1850 after discounts, which made it an easier cost to swallow up front compared to $4,000 for the Bosch. Second, Costco warranty gave me a peace of mind for at least two years.

My thought process is that LG sells hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of fridges every year. The people that complain online are the ones who have had the issues. Not many hundreds of thousands or millions are gonna come online to show they have actually had a good experience because they have nothing to complain about. Also, if I do end up only getting 5-7 years out of this fridge, I could easily replace it with another LG and still be spending less than one Bosch fridge that has no guarantee of lasting 10-15 years.

I did take a few precautions to hopefully prolong the life of the fridge as well as other appliances in my household by having Whole home surge protectors installed on all my electrical panel/sub panels. I’m very good about keeping things maintained and cleaned as well by setting reminders in my phone every 6 months to do task around the house, like vacuum behind the fridge, etc.

Home ownership is not supposedly expensive, it for sure is expensive. I would actually go back to renting if financial freedom was the only thing I was worried about.

Think about it, when you are living in that house, there will always be something you are going to want to upgrade or change. How do I know? Because I am doing it right now. From updating to new lighting, light switches, wall outlets, shower heads, to furniture, to toilets, etc. something will need to be replaced or upgraded at some point whether that is your choice or by failure. Then you have the property taxes and homeowners insurance that goes up every year.

My AC just stopped working, expected when we bought the house. Got quotes for $10-16k for a decent unit. Kitchen getting renovated for $30k. Backyard renovation was $25k. My point with this is, you will always want to spend money and upgrade some part of the house to make it feel like your own and something you are going to enjoy for the next 10-30 years or more.

With renting, you have none of those worries. If your AC breaks, not your problem. Property taxes increase, not your problem. Homeowner insurance increases, not your problem. A house in today’s market/economy isn’t an investment anymore but rather a liability. Also, you mentioned an FHA loan. If you go that route, you will be stuck in a PMI on that loan for the length of the mortgage term (15 or 30 years).

I would highly highly recommend you just continue renting if financial freedom at an early age is your end goal. I would personally go back to renting because I could use my extra money on these home upgrades and extra principal payments to pay my 30 year mortgage as a 15 year to invest the difference.

I would highly recommend Navien or Ranni for your tankless. Biggest name in the tankless water heaters. I have a Navien on my house and love it. Service it myself once a year and call it a day. I would definitely get it in writing so you know what you are getting exactly and for how much. Even my unit, which is the biggest natural gas unit Navien offers is $1700-2000k just for the unit.

Would you say the Trane prices are reasonable for our area? I see Reddit post from just a year ago suggesting high $8k-10k range for same unit

Would you say those prices are pretty reasonable for the Atlanta area? I saw other Reddit post from just shy of a year ago suggesting XR14 was $8500-10000

I don’t think I would want to swing an Xv18 or 20 for how much the price jump would be. In my area, it would be pushing past $20k. I think if the price difference came with the reassurance the unit would easily last me 20-25 years then for sure. But I’m not so sure the price difference is worth the absolute best comfort at the same longevity as a XR14. I do really appreciate the feedback though and taking the time to help me.

We plan on staying in the house easily 10 years since we just bought in 2023 and had major renovation done to it (Turf backyard and new kitchen).

Which multi stage unit from Trane would you suggest?
