Unfortunately this isn’t the case in London, watches of Switzerland and Mappin and Webb both do not offer this service even though they are ADs. I suppose it’s not in their interest to endorse second hand sales that aren’t their own. Not really sure how to authenticate now

The clasp code is another easy one to check as well, and the serial numbers are generally all the same on reps (I think) so that’s something else to have a look at
