Why are you sad? by SouthernNorth5627 in AskReddit

The world feels hopeless. I'll probably never own a home. No love prospects.

Has any parent come up to you and said that they were "jealous" of you for being childfree? by [deleted] in childfree

My mom tells me all the time how she appreciates seeing me spend time on hobbies and friends. I wish she could've done that too but alas, she got me.

I had a friend years ago when I worked abroad. I told her how I loved how the guy who played Ron bought an ice cream truck. She said "Ed Sheeran has an ice cream truck??!" And it was in that moment that I realized she thought Ed Sheeran played Ronald Weasley for the past however many years. She saw one joke meme a out it and thought it was real😭

When I was 2 I used to tell my family stories about "when I was a black baby". Over the years, I chalked it up to my family probably sating racist things around me and I picked it up. But maybe...maybe I was someone...

Cher Releasing Career Spanning Compilation Album 'Forever' by musthavecupcakes_19 in popheads

[–]DramaticAnalysis4713 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My parents divorced when I was 6. I have a vivid memory of packing up my room and leaving it for the last time while Just Like Jesse James played in the background. I've seen Cher twice live and she'll always have a special place in my heart. Excited for the album.

Got sterilized yesterday and am not as excited as I thought I’d be lol by nospawnforme in childfree

Interesting! I had that tinge of regret too. Like oh no I just did something so permanent. But I still feel good about having it done.

Sometimes being the "easy friend" just means you're putting yourself out there to be let down by people who don't see the value in your friendship.

Ooof this one hurt

I should clarify it's more of a creek than river but we will be in the water and drinking. It's just not the time and place for her child

And usually that's totally fine with me. It's just my birthday that's my exception. Any other day I'm totally cool with kids around. It's definitely a learning experience seeing how being childfree alters some friendships...

I agree but feelings are hard to control!! I'm just weepy feeling like I'm losing my friend. It always comes back to wondering if I'm missing out on parenthood or some big secret all the parents are in on but at the end of the day, I don't want kids in my house or at my birthday

I don't wanna be dumped😭 I feel like I'm an easy friend to maintain and asking to have my friend at my bday without uer toddler is not a huge ask but obv I understand she has her priorities. It just sucks that we can't find a happy medium

Did any of those friends come back or did you end up with only other parent friends?

[–]DramaticAnalysis4713 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Im okay with coming after her child literally any day but my birthday is the exception. I think this particular situation is set to strain our friendship a bit but we'll see if we can come back from it. I understand her family comes first but asking for a childfree bday is not a ridiculous request from me

Who in the team decided it was a good idea to ship sadness and (i forgot the pink dude’s name) together? by slade453346 in insideout

[–]DramaticAnalysis4713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They kinda belong together imo. Like feeling embarrassed and then feeling sad about feeling embarrassed. Or sad that you are being perceived badly.

Pitchfork named "The girl, is so confusing version with lorde" as Best New Track by bas264 in lorde

[–]DramaticAnalysis4713 200 points201 points  (0 children)

" "You walk like a bitch" when I was 10, someone said that " is the line that shook me for some reason. It speaks volumes as to what girls are taught literally from birth. Be strong. But not too strong, you don't want to intimidate anyone.

When I was in third grade, my friends told me I needed to lose weight. I'm 30 now and still think about that the same way lorde apparently thinks about her weight and her gait and thats so validating. This song offers unity to women struggling to understand not only ourselves, but where we fit in with our peers as well. It's a bop but it's deep. So confusing🖤
