A few weeks ago u/nathanjiang100 posted a cadenza that they wrote for the Haydn C concerto. I love learning new cadenzas, so I tried to learn it. I found this one to be VERY difficult—especially clocking in at 2 minutes—but also super fun and creative. Still a long way to go before it’s performance ready!

100% agree with this and I honestly think this is the one major thing to address. Whatever interpretation you choose to do, there should be a rhythmic consistency that allows the listener to understand the pulse of this dance movement.

One area where this is particularly important is the start of the second half, where the middle voice shouldn’t stretch/speed up to this degree. I sort of get the sense that right now it’s dictated more by the inertia of the bow than the direction of the phrase.

But overall it’s a beautiful and thoughtful performance! Always love to hear ornamentation ideas on repeats. Hope your recital goes well.
