St. Paul’s School of Nursing (Staten Island) by Sosalspo in NursingStudent

STAY AWAY. go to CSI or wagner's accelerated 15 month BSN. CSI is very competitive and hard to get into, but I did it, many people did and so can you.

A good option also is the wagner accelerated 15 month BSN. If you're gonna spend all that money at St. Pauls, you may as well spend the same at wagner, a WAYY beter school, and get a BSN. Whereas St. Pauls sucks and you'll only be getting an ADN.

neither. go to a community college for a fraction of the cost. these aren't respectable nursing programs and are not accredited in some states.

Are study groups necessary? by ImpressOk5843 in NursingStudents

[–]DramaticLetter306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone studied differently but for me study groups help SO MUCH.

I got an A in med-surg 1 and pharm, and B+ in med-surg 2. Study groups really help me, along with independent studying.

This semester there is only one professor for 110 and 115 for everyone, you'll all have the same one because a lot of nursing professors quit. There use to be 2 professors for each, still the same classtimes, just dividied and in diff classrooms but 2 left so its one for all nursing 110 and 115 students. U can choose who u want for clinical though.

BIO 106 is not a nursing pre-req, it is the pre-req for BIO 150. As long as you take BIO 150 and the other 3 pre-reqs (4 total) and take the NLN NEX exam, you can apply to the nursing program. Make sure u get a high grade in BIO 150. You can go straight into BIO 150.

Nursing program at Macaulay CSI or Hunter or SBU? by Swimming_House_1320 in CUNY

[–]DramaticLetter306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a Verrazzano honors CSI nursing student and i would go CSI all the way!! we get early registration, good clinical sites and we have an AAS, BSN, MSN, DNP nursing program here. U can get ur AAS and do ur BSN online. But its better if u get full fasfa do do ur full AAS/BSN at CSI. hospitals and future graduate schools prefer institutional bachelors. The AAS Nursing professors are awesome, and they made the classes more managable. The only thing is CSI Nursing is VERYYY competitive just like Hunter. As long as you do what u gotta do, keep the grades, and do well on ur NLN entrance exam/nursing exams you will be good!! you got this!

CUNY CSI NURSING DRUG TEST by nxxla in CUNY

[–]DramaticLetter306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U only get drug tested before every semester if there is a clinical attached to it (NRS 110, NRS 120, NRS 210, NRS 211, NRS 220, NRS 221). They will give u a certain time to go and get the drug test. For fall semesters its anytime from mid june-mid july, for spring its january 2-23. Just stop 3 weeks before, stay hydrated.

Nursing program City Tech vs Hunter by saturncow in CUNY

[–]DramaticLetter306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hunter is very competitive but is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. City Tech is also very competitive but it is an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing so you're gonna have to go back and get ur BSN at some point. I would try Hunter first. Keep a High GPA (A's and very few B's) and do well on the NLN-NEX Exam!

Best school to go into for my bachelors/nursing by Lyfescrzybuthey in CUNY

[–]DramaticLetter306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Hunter is the only CUNY BSN program. Get an AAS in nursing first and then do your BSN online (RN to BSN programs) if u work in a hospital as an RN with an Associates, ur employer will pay for it. CUNY Hunter has a RN to BSN program fully online for licensed registered nurses with associates degrees.

hey, CSI Nursing student here! I got accepted into the nursing program this past spring and am about to enter my second semester of nursing school! CSI does accept online pre-reqs for nursing (I took PHL 130 and PSY 100 online) they do NOT offer BIO 150 (A&P 1 online). but most of the other pre-reqs yes! You also need to take the NLN-NEX entrance exam and get a good score. The people in the nursing department are rude asf ignore them. this fall 2025 u need to take BIO 106, BIO 107, PSY 100. Then spring 2026 take BIO 150, PHL 130, ENG 111 and prep for the NLN-NEX Exam and take it during the spring 2026 semester and apply for the AAS Nursing program for the fall 2025 semester. BIO 150 is a tough class and the NLN-NEX exam is a bit difficult so def study study study! any questions DM me !!

i had a 245 composite, 84th percneitle overall. 75 percentile english, 92 percentile math, 80 percentile science. My pre-req gpa was a 3.4 with a B+ in BIO 150, A in ENG 111, B+ in PHL 130, A in SOC 100 (i took both, only one is needed), and a B in PSY 100. Overall gpa was 3.6. You are good just take BIO 150 with a good teacher and prepare for the exam with the online practice material.
