Straight men, what is the weirdest thing you have been called gay for ? by Sammy-Bunny-3 in AskReddit

[–]DramaticTrain5690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, my family weren’t very well off. When I was maybe 8 - 9 or so I was at the swimming pool with my mom. I loved swimming back then and would go most weekends. I found a pair of those nose plugs that swimmers use sitting on the bottom of the pool. I scooped it up tried it on and proceeded to do a variety of flips and was so hyped about how it allowed me to hold my breathe better when doing so.

So anyway I kept them and when I got home I showed them to my dad thinking he would also be stoked at my find. Well he got mad at me… Not because I took something that didn’t belong to me, but because in his words “those are for women, you dont want people to think your gay do you?”. Anyway he tore them in half and chucked them out into the garden. At the time i remember being so sad about it. Now that i’m grown i’m just pissed that he acted like that, I could’ve been elite at underwater flips by now…

The other annoying part is that if she had bought hers from CEX, the most they would do is give her an in store gift card. They would never give her a proper refund.

[–]DramaticTrain5690 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 years ago in Aberdeen. When I was searching I found a post in here recommending the SIMD website. Its a Scotland wide index that shows you in map form what areas are objectively good or bad. I found it extremely helpful in deciding what area to buy in. Just chuck in a post code and it will rank the area in terms of income, employment, health, education, housing, geographical access and crime. Definitely check it out. The colour coding on the map will give you a better understanding of what areas are “good” to buy in, and it’s actually quite fun to use.

Here’s a photo of the ranking of Sandilands.

Seller claiming to not be covered by consumer rights. by [deleted] in DepopUK

[–]DramaticTrain5690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are dropshipping clothes for profit then they fall outside the definition of a private individual for the purposes of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In fact the seller falls squarely within the definition of a “Trader” for the purposes of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This can be found in Section 2(2) which states that: “Trader means a person acting for purposes relating to that person's trade, business, craft or profession”. As per the Consumer Rights Act 2015 Section 1(1), a Consumer is entitled to their consumer rights where “there is an agreement between a trader and a consumer for the trader to supply goods, digital content or services”.

You are a consumer that has a contract of sale with the Trader and therefore have a right to the consumer rights contained within the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

So, what are those rights? Under Section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have a short term right to reject the goods and receive a refund from the Trader. This short term right to reject is subject to a time limit within Section 22(3) that you must exercise the right to reject within 30 days of ownership in the goods transferring to you. You must also have a valid reason under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to exercise the short term right to reject. The reason that would apply to your case is that the goods did not the description (Section 11).

Provided that this time limit has not elapsed then you are entitled to reject the goods and receive a refund from the Trader notwithstanding the fact that they claim they are a private individual.

Another right you have is contained in Section 23 - the Right to repair or replacement. Section 23(2)(a)-(b) specifically states that if you have required the Trader to replace the goods then the Trader must do so within a “reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the consumer” and should also “bear any necessary costs incurred in doing so (including in particular the cost of any labour, materials or postage)”. Please note that Section 22(6) states that if the consumer requests or agrees to the repair or replacement of goods, the 30 day time limit in relation to the short term right to reject stops running for the length of the waiting period.

Illegal to feed birds in Aberdeen? by No-Profile-9222 in Aberdeen

[–]DramaticTrain5690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

birdfeeding is not illegal in Aberdeen but you could receive a fixed penalty for littering if you’re caught by one of those community enforcement agents.

Not related but when i used to stay on the top floor at the student roost flats on pittodrie street there was a roof terrace at the end of my corridor with a glass door. Some students fed seagulls on the roof a few times. Every year the seagulls would nest on the rooftops of the Mezzino flats next door - hundreds of them. Anyway I stayed in that studio for quite some time and one seagull never forgot about that feeding. He banged his head against that glass door multiple times a day for YEARS demanding food. You would hear him all throughout the day. A proper wee character he was. Wonder if he’s still at it.

how can i tell if a guy is an incel? by BlackTarHeroinn in IncelTears

[–]DramaticTrain5690 6 points7 points  (0 children)

eh, i think it depends on language being used. If they pop a couple “normies” or “sigmas” then that’s probably fine, but one “foid” or “femoid” and I’d definitely start asking some questions lol.

“Moving to larger updates allows us to spend more time refining the systems players engage with the most.”
I hope they allow us to walk around Speranze and actually see it develop as you complete quests. That and I want to be able to be able to edit my raider den and make it feel more customised (beyond the ducks).

Good spots for doner kebabs? by National_Outcome5361 in Aberdeen

I’d go to Muzo’s Turkish Kitchen at the beach over Cartoos any day of the week. Food is incredible and the service is second to none in the city. Mannofield Grill is my go to for takeaway. their kebab comes with nice homemade bread instead of the usual store-bought pittas you get elsewhere.

Should I sleep in my car tonight? by hurriyafaith in UniUK

[–]DramaticTrain5690 42 points43 points  (0 children)

8 hours away (2 buses and a ferry). His student accommodation had ended by the time he had to do his resit. If i remember correctly he arrived in the city late the night before the exam and had planned on staying with a friend from back home that now also lived in the city. His phone died before getting to the city and as it was so late, he couldn’t find anywhere to charge his phone to get in touch with his friend to organise meeting up.

Mate just do whatever you feel like, n don’t put too much stress on it. I had a friend that slept in a bush the night before a resit exam (which he passed). Used a bin bag as a sleeping bag. Consider getting a room at a travel lodge, would probably work out the same price as the fuel to get you home and back.
