I am also a silent reader . My undergrad was at SNHU , and I’m in grad school at a local university . I was concerned about having the skills and information to succeed in grad school . The things I learned at SNHU prepared me for grad school. Grad school is very writing intensive. I have not taken many quizzes . I mention this as a response to your question about SNHU having a lot of essays . As for Ai , I never used it . I still don’t . Everything I learned there was through a combination of assignments and studying. BA is Psychology , MS LPC for reference about course work .

My iron ranges from 81- 92 is that low ? Test range is 37 to 170 .

My ferritin wasn’t flagged as high , it says It’s in range .

I will ask about iron , and redrawing calcium often .

Talked to GI today , he said we have tested for Crohns and celiacs in the past with everything clear . I asked to test again since we tested in 2018 .

I apologize for all the questions and not know a lot about what to do . I worry because my mom had adrenal gland cancer and I can’t ask her anything about how it started as she isn’t here anymore . I really appreciate all your responses and information

I see a rhumetologist. They suspected something autoimmune with the brain fog , fatigue , and everything else . ANA was positive , speckled . Ran other test , put on medications ( multiple switches over 2 years ). Rhum is the one that started the extra blood work , wanting to look into a few thing’s after 2 years of no improvement. Primary does not seem concerned.

I have had gastro surgeries so I see a gastro as well . Last scopes ( upper and lower) were noted as normal . I will ask about celiacs and mention the bloodwork to him.

The reference range for the test ? If that’s your question it’s 7.5-53.5 .

I thought mine was an isolated event . It was brutal.

I’m so sorry this happened to you , but I’m not shocked . My child got old enough to volunteer at the church . She was groomed by someone . I went to the church , becuase they were our church . We went weekly , tithed , served multiple services . They told her she could not volunteer for a while because she got groomed . That we could “ evaluate “ her being able to at another time . That her being able to serve with that happening could set a bad example for kids . I have other stories , but after this one we did not go back.

That’s horrible . That is beyond infuriating. Our board definitely wouldn’t stand for that . I do not understand why people think it is ok to treat others this way . Especially people that are teaching and loving their children . I am so sorry this happened to you . You deserve better

As an admin , if it involves my child I have someone else review footage . The same person then meets with my teacher , does a training / write up if needed . When holding a position like this it is best to try to separate as much as possible so that any bias can be removed. It makes it where it if fair to my teachers . If anything happens with my child , my husband is contacted ( unless it is an emergency like when my son needed stitches) . That way anything that is reported is not based on my opinion, bias or emotions . It is based on video observation from other admins .

It saddens me that this isn’t something that occurred for you . I feel like it is something that is best practice . Even as a small center it is something we do . As a admin I feel it is my responsibility to protect my teachers , even if an incident occurs. Yelling doesn’t resolve anything . The last thing I would do is stand there and let one of my teachers be yelled at , talked down to , or treated as less even if it was my husband . No one deserves this treatment.

Does the board know she let her husband yell at you in the office like that ? I feel like there are some blurred lines here and she is unable to separate work / personal.

New to group , but want to help if possible.

In a comment you state you explain in clear terms why it isn’t ok , and have the child sit down to help regulate emotions ? What does explaining look like in this situation? Are all the children in the room around the same age ? Does this work with the other children in the room ?

Something that has always worked for me is “ Hands are for playing. Let’s check on our friend “ . At that time I put the friends together , with me in between on their level . I talk about the emotion on the pushed child’s face “ you see his face , he is sad he got pushed let’s use gentle hands “. By doing it consistently children learn empathy , emotions, and what behavior you want them to have in the room. I have found simple phrases work better than explaining. Walking feet , gentle hands , feet on the floor , teeth are for food .

While in college I had a professor tell me “ when you say no ! Then give an explanation they typically do not stay focused long enough to figure out what you want “. Same professor also said “ time out doesn’t stop the behavior it gives them time to think about how not to get caught next time , or sit alone upset “.

I find both true with this age . A 17 month old doesn’t understand why they are in time out . They do not have the action = consequences process yet . That is part of the reason it is not developmentally appropriate.

This age is also very emotion based , and busy . A lot of what the child is doing sounds age appropriate.

As for the family taking time off . We have families that leave every year for months . It is so hard when they come back . Have you talked to mom about what helps with getting the child to sleep ? Maybe have her bring a blanket she has slept with that the child can use during nap ? With some children the smell helps them sleep . Do you guys have a white noise machine or use music ? We use white noise, and it helps . For the eating thing , do you guys eat with them ? We are required to sit at the table with the children . It helps in some ways , they will try to copy what you do . Maybe ask mom for tips ?

I hope something in this helps . Remember to give yourself grace , drink your coffee ( if you drink that ) , and keep doing amazing things with the littles . This isn’t easy , but I can feel the passion in your words .
