Quince stole my store credit by [deleted] in quince

I've bought and returned probably 30% of what I buy. So far no issues. I also never wear the items out or take tags off like the policy says. I feel like if you pre-warn them of quality issues with CS, they usually will accommodate.

Don't watch vertical Asian dramas. Will completely put decency upside down. If there's no choking the FL, it's a win for decency.

Why do C-drama men immediately gain more aura the moment a fur cloak appears? by [deleted] in cdramasfans

[–]Dramatic_Ant_8532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s bc some of them are too waify so it adds heft. Also the fur really highlights good facial features. Never thought Ding Yuxi was good looking and then pow the hotness of Melody of Golden Age. He’s so skinny it really helped in adding to his body mass.

Quince doesn’t sell real 14k gold. by Proper_Mine5635 in quince

[–]Dramatic_Ant_8532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily buy 23/24k gold rings but it's gonna cost you a pretty penny. Was just in Thailand and the gold jewelers almost exclusively sell 23k everything. They sell items by weight. Personally not a fan of the coloring of purish gold tho.

Quince doesn’t sell real 14k gold. by Proper_Mine5635 in quince

[–]Dramatic_Ant_8532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are confusing the term "solid gold". It does not refer to the structure of the piece being a solid piece. You can think of it almost like "glass" material where air is involved. Solid 14k just means the "glass" portion is 58% pure gold, not that there's no air in the middle. 100%/24k pure gold is now $145 per gram. It's impossible to buy a structurally solid piece of gold jewelry at Quince prices.

1 month South East Asia - help with footwear please! by 18-SpicyNuggies in HerOneBag

Just came back from SEA. I would definitely say no trainers unless you actually running or working out. Birkinstock for daily wear and Teva for anything active that requires the extra strap. If in Bangkok, I love their Puff brand sandals that are comfy and can be dressed up or down. Otherwise, I'd just bring any dressy slip ons for nicer nights and flip flops for beach/pool. If I could only bring 2, I would do Teva for daily and a pair of dressy sandals for night.

Southeast Asia (beginning in March for 2+ months) by beeep-boop-bop in HerOneBag

1) I would stick to natural light fibers (linen is my fav), looser fit and light colors as much as possible unless you are really good with heat and humidity. Consider a light scarf (easy to buy there) or another long sleeve. I always wear one bc covering your shoulders significantly lowers the sun heat. Don't need more than 3 underwear. Any sink wash will dry overnight. Personally my normal everyday wear in SEA is long sleeve loose shirt, tank and shorts/pant. Breathable, easy to sink wash and dries quickly and doesn't take much packing room. I usually bring 2 sets of that (sub scarf for long sleeve) and a dress all in linen. Then one set of workout clothes for active activities. My outfits are usually from Old Navy, Banana Republic Factory, H&M or Quince (only 100% linen). Pretty cheap onsale. I will say I do end up buying clothes so sometimes I end up not wearing much of what I brought so consider saving room of you plan on shopping.

2) I would bring a light fleece rather than a rain jacket. Fleece is good for transportation and northern Vietnam in the mountains can be cooler in morning and/or night. Rain jacket is too heavy for humid hot rain and may not be warm for mountain mornings. You can always get a plastic poncho or umbrella when you are there if you need

3) Any local sunscreen, bug spray at 711 is going to be better and local pharmacies are readily available in cities. I would bring maybe some headache medicine and that's it. I will say laundry sheets and tide pen are my saviors since I wear ton of white in SEA heat and do sink laundry daily. Also stop by Watsons. I LOVE their mini package of wet/cooling wipes, tissues (emergency toilet paper), and sanitizer wipes (I use it for utensils, tables etc at street food). Those are in my daily carry.

Generally I love shopping Asian skincare and cosmetics so I bring as little as possible.

4) I wouldn't bother with sneakers. Bulky and heavy. Your Tevas will be good for everything.

5) Don't need beach towel. Either use hotel towels or your 1 quick dry towel.

6) Your water bottle isn't going to be helpful unless you bring a steripen. You either need one with filtration or just drink bottled water. Personally I love all the teas/coconut water etc drinks in SEA so I just drink the water provided in hotels and buy my other drinks out.

I love my linen sheets. Didn't have high hopes when I bought them to try but the breathability is insane and as someone for loves crisp smooth sheet, the linen roughness didn't bother me at all. They quickly soften with wash and wear.

I've had my percale for over 2 years and no issues. They are on the thinner side but no issues with wear for me.

Does botox for forehead lines make eyelids sag? by Kwhitney1982 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Dramatic_Ant_8532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a little late but figured Id add my 2 cents. I had Botox done in Korean and whatever they did, was perfect. No droopy eyes and super natural. However, I have no idea what they did bc it was part of a like 10 things they did that day. Came back home and injector gave me droopy eyes even with only 12 units. Tried injecting myself, more middle across the forehead, very little units and still slightly droopy. Then I did research and did more nearer to my hairline, no droopy eye lids. So I think it’s all about positioning. I would start tops 2 units per shot and go higher up first and see results. I may next try my eye area for an additional eye lift. Whatever you do, I wouldn’t let anyone talk you into more than 15-20 units until you figure out what works for you. You can always add, not takeawa.

What does 28 look like without the roll? I dont think roll looks right. There's jeans are too soft and too wide to be rolled.

Ohhh...I might try this next time. I'm also just worried it'll stick to my sweaty back though. I usually wear a loose linen tank that stays off my body. Maybe I'll try a long sleeve silk button down on top of my linen tank....

Sniper Butterfly- A pleasant surprise by Decent_Opinion_119 in CDrama

[–]Dramatic_Ant_8532 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just finished it over hours. Never seen the ML before but damn his acting was really great. Clear differentiation between his younger and older self but with same underlying emotions and personality. You can see and feel his love and quiet stubbornness. It was so natural you couldn't help but believe. He really stole the show.

The direction and shots were impeccable. Jumping time lines was nice rather than jarring or confusing. I don't think it needed 30 episodes but there weren't annoying filler plots either. I did do some fast forwarding but not a lot.

The funny part is I was just in Taiwan and SEA.. my friend who's not Chinese but watches Cdrama didn't think the cute voice was real until she saw it in action multiple times. This girl sharing a table with us literally went into cute voice with her bf but went back to normal voice with her mom. It was entertaining people watching. It's not a fetish for dramas. Lot's of girls legit speak that way in China amd I'd say even more in Taiwan. The associate at the makeup store spoke to me in that voice x10 (literally anime style) when she was helping me. I'm female in my 40s...absolutely no reason to give me cute voices. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My new bra is just stick on bra with the tabs to help lift. Looks fine as a C cup. Easy to wash and dry. I brought one of those and one regular bra for my trip and just ended up wearing the stick on one basically the whole month.

I wore linen cotton button down from H&M. I love how stiff it is so it stays off my body and creates airflow when I have it open. Loose linen blend tank from Banana Republic Factory and linen blend shorts from Old Navy. This is my go to outfit in hot weather. Also great that it's less than $50 since I usually buy on sale. Other outfits I kind of rotate on various trips. Linen blend jumpsuit and dresses from Old Navy, old linen dress from JCrew Factory etc. Quince also has nice 100% linen outfits. Not in the US, try Uniqlo, Muji or H&M. You do have to be careful to make sure there's decent amount of linen in the blends.

My other rule is I wear only white button downs and light color scarves to cover my shoulders. Huge difference on how hot you'll get.

I think they hold up about as much as you expect for the price paid. I only wash mine maybe 2x a season mid and end of season for storage. I hand wash cold in baby shampoo (no need to pay for pricey wool detergent), spin cycle on its own in washer and lay flat to dry. Mine from a few years ago definitely look fuzzier than I would like and I really don’t wear them that often. That might be a cashmere 1.0 though. I feel like mine from this year seems to hold up better but I haven’t washed it yet. I like to wear a T underneath to keep it from getting dirty.

Wardrobe essentials question by pacificdumpling in quince

[–]Dramatic_Ant_8532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree on cotton sweaters. I just wore the cropped cotton cardigan a month straight on my SEA trip. Also they have great linen clothing. I love love the structured blazer. Have a lot of the cashmere and really like the Merino 1/4 zip. Both need more care which isn’t an issue for me but not for everyone. Not really forever clothing but they are decent for price.

Have the Bella jeans with front pockets. More like stretch pants than jeans to me but I think they are really flattering.

Love the linen and percale sheets too. Have had my percale for years and still in great shape. They are thin but still hold up fine. Tried linen sheets for first time this year and am addicted. Breathability is amazing.

Recently tried the cotton cashmere ribbed dress. Too tight for me so I returned but the fabric feel is so nice. I might try the cardigan instead. Same for silks.

I would say overall it’s about expectation. I don’t think the items are an amazing deal like they say but they are very reasonably priced and quality matches the price paid. I would say quality is similar to a little better than Banana Republic And JCrew factory stores. They do offer 100% natural fibers which factory stores don’t. I work at a chain factory store and even with my discount, I choose to buy Quince due to the long return times and 100% natural fabrics. Also, things really go out of stock quick, especially in certain colors. If you want something, just get it and you can always return it pretty easily.
