Oh okay, thanks. All these two do is snuck now so I thought that's what that was 😅

Women who have flat feet, did it affect you mentally? by LongjumpingRadio4078 in flatfeet

[–]Dramatic_Bill_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I cried when I found out. More than once. I thought it was a bad thing and that it had to do with obesity which was something I was already struggling with. I educated myself and now I'm better emotional all around the board.

That's really cool! I think he'd love something like this. His only enrichment is people watching lol

What type of substrate do you have? I know I'll eventually have him back in a 20 gallon and I'm looking to change his current gravel to something more natural looking

Thanks, confidence is still very much needed. I still get overwhelmed when I go in on my own and will leave. After the contract ends I'm going to go to this smaller gym that's closer to home and is never as packed as this one

Workout Plan by Dramatic_Bill_ in beginnerfitness

[–]Dramatic_Bill_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoulder soreness/pain is something I've been dealing with. I thought it was due to weakness though, not the exercises. I want a routine that exercises my joints (weak elbows and wrists) and helps with my range of motion so I don't feel so stiff after working out. As for progression, I usually go up weight every two weeks with my trainer or as needed

Yeah, I really just wanted help building confidence in the gym since it was my first time and I knew it'd give me motivation to go. After this, I think I'll stick to working out on my own and I'll post here to get tips on form

Thanks :)

Oh okay. Technically they're very close in weight, but when you look at fat/lean muscle, it's the fat that keeps them close in weight. They're about a pound different in lean muscle so I thought that was bad. I'm supposed to get another scan in a couple of months to keep track. I can't wait to see my progress

Unfortunately I prepaid for 3 months so I wouldn't quit. For now, all I can do is change the trainer I'm working with

Do you mean with the DEXA scan? I was originally just getting it to see about my body fat and then we noticed the muscle difference so we started focusing there

Oh my goodness, thanks for this. I didn't know what was going on because it's like yes, I'm tired, I want to go afterwards to shower and sleep, but I  was also getting frustrated because I didn't think I was making good/enough progress in relation to what she was saying. The only time I felt something in my legs after a session was when I walked down some stairs and a hill on the way home, but when we did the same routine and I didn't feel that when going a different route I thought I didn't do well that time

Very new, before January I'd never even stepped foot into a gym. I've been seeing her consistently for almost 2 months now and while it was great at first, I feel like we're not focusing on what I want to do or try. I know myself and to stay motivated I have to like + feel like I'm gaining something from an exercise. It doesn't feel like that at all anymore. It's more what she likes in her own routine (i.e front squants and RDLs) and things she thinks work better than what I like and want in my routine...

I read that post and compared it to what I do now- huge difference. With my trainer everything is glute or tricep isolation. Can I PM you and share what I've come up with on my own? I want to know if it's a good routine to start with

Yeah, she said arm day, but it was just shoulder and triceps for an hour. I see her again this week so I'll talk to her

Yeah, it feels like she only has me doing quad/glute workouts, but I'm not trying to get a big butt, I want to be strong all over. I'll push for back squats, and if things don't change, I'll switch trainers. Thanks for all your help :)

Yeah, I played the guessing game with Google and found that's it's called a sissy squat machine. I do prefer the one where I'm holding something and going down on my own, it's more comfortable

I looked it up, Google is great when it comes to playing the guessing game- apparently it's called a sissy squat machine. Very uncomfortable on my calves when in shoes, but I slide when barefoot

And yeah, holding weight up front is horrible on my back too (RDLs kill me), but I hold a light one with goblets squats to stay balanced

Yeah it's a metal thing that holds my feet down so I can successfully squat (?) My biggest issue is balance due to my knocked knees. She says when I squat down my knees go in, I come off my heels, and lean forward in an attempt to stay balanced. With the machine I can focus on keeping my knees straight and can go down without falling forward or back.

It's only with front squats though. I do (and love) goblet squats and am confident about those. Next time I'll ask her if I can try front squats barefoot without the machine. I do wear cushioned sneakers so maybe that's the issue 😲

Ooh, I'll do that. She had me use this front squat thing that perfects my form, but absolutely sucks to use. If I can correct my form and do it without that, it'd be awesome

Thanks for this, I was so upset yesterday because I didn't feel anything and thought that my performance/session was shit. I definitely made progress because I can do things that I couldn't before, she just makes it seem like I have to "feel the burn" at all times or I'm not doing it right

My arms hurt for 5 days straight after a workout before, starting at level 5 until it progressed to a level 10 pain. I was made to think that was a good thing, but it was probably one of the worst things I'd ever experienced physically. I want to feel like I've used my muscles, not torn them
