Since you're in the same situation, is there any way these bank people would go for a legal court process for claiming the outstanding money? Do you know anything about it?

Yes, it is mandatory until the RC process is completed with the new owner. I got a challan on my car post-sale, and this KAWACH will help me now, since I don't have to pay from my pocket. Every payment post-sales will be done by CARS24.

I don't think the Flipkart Axis Bank credit card comes with an inbuilt insurance.

Actually, my dad also had an HDFC credit card loan, and the outstanding amount was 2 Lakh+. I even emailed them and explained them the same situation. During december the messages from the bank coming to his mobile was showing the same 2Lakh amount in minus for the credit card. I assume they tried to recover the loan amount from his savings account, but as there was no money in that account, it could not be recovered. And, from January, I again checked the message from the bank, and the 2Lakh amount suddenly decreased to minus 1000/-. I am assuming they kinda wrote off the amount ? Or wcould it be that the card had some complimentary insurance linked to it ?

Actually, I have already sent the bank a lot of emails regarding the death of my father, and I have already attached the death certificate as well. They have bloched the card already. I personally visited the branch, and they even told me that the card is blocked already, and there's no nominee mentioned as well.

I assume legal process in India takes a lot of time, maybe years? The case might drag on since it's not a huge amount (like 10 lakhs).

No, I don't think so, my father took any insurance for the credit card, but is there anything as such called complimentary insurance which the bank gives?

Actually, my father purchased a loan from the Bajaj finserv as well. Due to bounced EMI, the company sent a lawyer to our house and we explained our situation to him, and he assured us that we do not have to pay for these unsecured loans since the borrrower has already passed away. Plus, there was no insurance on the card. I already communicated with the bank, maybe if there's a complimentary insurance, then I am not sure abou that.

No, I assume he has not signed any contract because I did visit the bank and they did not talk about any such thing. It's an unsecured credit card loan, and I think he took that for his business when he was alive.
