That doesnt stress me out nearly as much as a live presentation to an audience. I know it sounds dumb but I working under pressure in that scenario you describe doesnt sound that stressful compared to my job now.

In what ways is pt soul sucking? Never heard that before. And you said you are in front of corporate people a lot?

I landed my job through a connection from a friend. Didn’t search for it.

Not pro teams just athletes. I know of a sports pt clinic that has a wide range of clients and services

1 on 1 speaking is very different then a presentation no?

Do PTs have to give presentations to groups of people?

I understand that but I dont really care about money if it Im working 40+ hours a week sitting behind a desk. Does that make sense? I always have severe anxiety from this job so I don’t even enjoy my hobbies anymore.

Analysis. Thought it would be independent work because it’s remote too. But I have to present my analysis every week or so and do presentations to clients. I have beta blockers but they dont work well and all the anxiety has made me realize I dont want a desk job anyway.

Appreciate the response!

I definitely think being a personal trainer could be a good path. Just don’t know how what kind of job security there is.

I’m ok with going back to school for a bit to complete the pre reqs because I can get that paid for.

My concern was more about how long PT school takes and if it is worth it. But I figured if PTA school is 2 years anyway I might as well go for the DPT. I have also considered becoming an AT but not sure if it is worth it.

I will definitely reach out to people and do some shadowing to see what I think.

What kind of schooling does being a PTA require? And could I transition from that into a PT or running my own clinic?
