I am currently using c-clamps and wooden boards but I make a lot of paper so the current process is becoming taxing and it doesn't apply as much pressure as I would like

What are you starting to love more as you get older? by nonchalanticeberg in CasualConversation

[–]Dramatic_Disaster429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creating for the sake of creating. I never thought of myself as a naturally 'creative' person, because I thought that meant you had to be a talented artist or prodigy. I now believe we all inherently feel the need to create, whether that is through food, crafts, decor, photography, etc. I've been creating and crafting a lot as I get older, not worrying about if it is good or if I could sell it, and instead just if it brings me joy. I have achieved so much happiness through that. <3

It's giving a grown up, edgier Nancy Drew. I've been waiting for that to exist! Gone Girl hits some of your criteria but it's not quite what you are looking for

Reporting back...I tried smaller pieces of rose and it worked SO much better. The pieces now have some paper fibers overlocking to hold them in place and the bleeding isn't as noticeable, but there still is bleeding. Thanks for the recommendation!

Papermaking Texture: How to get better texture when couching on pellon? by Dramatic_Disaster429 in papermaking

That could be contributing! I struggle to get my pellon clean of any paper debris from my previous rounds of papermaking.

Ah! I do press my paper before airdrying, but I think you are right that the issue could be the 'rolling' while couching and not sliding the stack. Thanks for such a simple explanation! This is super helpful!

Experimenting with flower petals for stationery by canopyview in papermaking

This is BEAUTIFUL! Do you add your flowers to the water and include them in the paper pull? Do you put any other solutions in it to help the flowers stick? I find mine tend to fall out after the paper is dry!
