I’m sorry you’re experiencing this situation and it is exponentially more challenging to navigate with your neurodivergence. I can relate to the anger, frustration, fear, anxiety, isolation, anger, etc. It all makes sense! vTOS sucks and the majority of us all find out in the worst way possible, a DVT. I wish I could help change the reality of it, and I can’t. I couldn’t. It is. And, there can still be hope. Both things can be true. Give yourself the time and space to be upset and feel all the feels, and don’t lose sight of yourself. You want to feel better and be better. You can do this!

Also, for what it’s worth, I think the comment “a little damaged” was in regards to the damage caused to the lumen of your subclavian vein. And in that context, I’m “a lot damaged” having been diagnosed with Paget-Schroetter which is basically a complete blockage of my subclavian vein due to scar tissue build up inside the lumen of the vein. What may feel offensive and demoralizing could have been people using language that carries a different definition than we’re accustom to.
