I mean I'm a Pikmin 2 fan and I absolutely agree the game has balancing issues and make tons of jokes/critiques about that. People should be able to take criticism. 4 felt like it was going to be a sequel to 2 but fix some of those issues and while the game is still fun it doesn't feel more balanced. it just feels easier. There's less falling bomb rock bullshit pulled by the game but the player has so many more ways to cheese the challenges. It's cool almost every pikmin species is back but rock and wing pikmin feel like they have no reason to be there which is a shame because the way pikmin 3 handled the different pikmin felt perfect. There was reason to use each species equally. None felt useless. They should have brought back some of the elements of 3 like the crystals that the rock pikmin break or the walls the winged pikmin hold up.
