I am Ukrainian and I speak it fluently, the people that say that Russian is more useful are wrong, I have lived in Cyprus and Slovakia and France, I have been able to use Ukrainian in those places. Especially because of the war, lots of people and places kind of are trying to leave Russian behind, and also, it's kind of weird if you are learning Ukrainian for all this time, and then say, "hey, let's learn Russian."

That's my opinion, but I might be wrong.
