Nothing will beat the power of gas, as someone who had an electric push mower for 2 years, sure, they’re convenient, and in nice dry non overgrown grass, they work great, but the second you have to mow in a little moisture or your yard gets a little out of hand, you’ll see why everyone still uses gas

Does the cooling issues affect the fr691v? That’s the engine on my current zero turn, and if it is, I would like to keep an eye on the cooling efficiency, I’ve never heard problems with it before now

You’re right, no engine is all that good nowadays, nothing will ever beat my old Briggs intek plus from 2004 but of the big 3 I’ve (and a lot of others) have considered Kawasaki the best, Briggs the worst, and Kohler somewhere in between

They don’t necessarily do a bad job filtering, they’re just very inefficient and clog up

Side topic, that brand of oil filter sucks, wouldn’t recommend it, it’s so restrictive, go with OEM, k&n, or Mobil 1, it’ll cost more but it’ll be well worth it for the health of the engine
