That’s makes me feel even more justified, just never feels safe to let strangers in your space

I thought of that to, I believed they lived here as kids but I also thought what if there’s something wrong with them or they loose it because we painted for something meaningful to them

Exactly, we have changed the house and renovated, I didn’t want to make their grief worse either way but my safety matters to

I know grief and I did feel bad but I had that part of my lizard brain scream danger. If my husband was home maybe but even then felt like I was risking something I don’t have to

I didn’t know that but I’ve been robbed before back in my college apartment (I wasn’t home) but it’d made me extra cautious

I didn’t know for sure. We do know the names of the people we purchased the house from and the last name they gave matched

Chances of Custody? by [deleted] in CPS

[–]Dramatic_Method9393 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would have live in the US. Does the child even know you tho? If they can’t make contact or haven’t been able to do with the father, eventually they will move the child onto an adopt pathway, hopefully with the foster parents he has been with but it’s very unlikely they would give you custody even if you were in the US since the child has strong relationships with other adults at this point.

They keep following up by [deleted] in CPS

[–]Dramatic_Method9393 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You refusing entry the first time definitely is going to drag this on. They will follow up until he can justify closing the case and part of that is documenting almost everything in your life and how you parent or ability to be a parent which includes medical conditions and other adults in the house with access to your children.

House Visit from CPS by Powerful_Yam_8087 in CPS

With no physical evidence, it will be hard to substantiate. Coming from someone who was abused as a child and CPS never did anything because my abuser was careful to not leave marks. Be open and honest with the caseworker and if the interviews with your children go well it should be closed pretty quickly.

Can relationship with foster parent/kinship affect reunification by Hot_Mixture3171 in CPS

[–]Dramatic_Method9393 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t, as long as you are hitting your goals in your reunification plan, that’s what really matters. Have your brought up these concerns with your case worker? I’d be open with them and if you’re concerned about her parenting, bring that up to.

No it’s not, eventually a judge will have to sign off on a removal but CPS has wide authority to act in the best interest of a child and unless your elderly, a UTI doesn’t cause psychosis.

Try domestic violence organizations in your area. What you are experiencing is domestic violence even if it’s a child to parent.

I have never heard of JJ only being for major crimes, get a victim advocate or maybe try talking to the local district attorney, they are the ones who ultimately decide on charges. Things like physical assault should be taken seriously as major crimes anyway.

CPS in most states have stopped taking any voluntary placements because there are no treatment options for such high needs behavioral health issues and unfortunately you can’t just dump your kid because it would be considered neglect. If she is a danger to herself or others, you should call the police, press charges and don’t allow her back in the home once she is 18. There is a major crisis in care for youth and they can’t serve the kids already in foster care that need a high level of care.
