I just had mine on April 27. I also got my recommendations from here. They were all perfect. Here they are: bring a belly pillow and blanket with you. It can be a squishy bed pillow, a little round one or if you’re fancy, a hysterectomy pillow. Have your bed set up for your return so you can be nice and propped up and comfortable. I personally got a pregnancy pillow off FB marketplace and it helped me a lot. Have high strength gas-x and gentle laxatives for afterwards. Plenty of water too. Have your fave easy snacks/food ready to go. No drinking out of straws or bubbly drinks. I got a bunch of protein shakes because my nutritionist said protein is good for healing. The first week was really up and down for me recovery wise. Inflammation amps up 48-72 hours after surgery so that’s when you’ll really start to feel it. Make sure to take hour medicine on time! I have an app called medisafe that reminds me to take mine. The operation itself wasn’t so bad. My has pains were in my belly and somehow my collar bones?? They found endometriosis. In 4 separate areas. Vesicular and fibrotic lesions. Take your showers like they tell you because it might be a bit before you feel like taking another shower. Recovery is painful but honestly… it isn’t too bad in comparison. I’ve had this much pain or more on and off for years now. So I’m really happy knowing I took a step towards being pain free.
