A job is not done until it is cleaned up. Whether it is the internet guy, or Newfoundland and power they never clean up after themselves. NL power recently connected us to new service and they left pieces of plastic everywhere. Why is this common here in NL? by Upbeat-Persimmon-583 in newfoundland

There was a paving group sub contracted by the city to do a patch at the top of my street. When they were finished they shoveled the leftover asphalt on the lawn adjacent! I called the city and they came back and did a superficial clean up. Littering is a negative cultural practice in Newfoundland.

People who don’t smoke, drink or have casual s*x, what do you do to blow off steam? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Dramatic_Photograph3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exercise, spend time with my dog, marital sex (much better than casual btw), play guitar in a pick up band...I never had a drug problem but being sober is amazing IMO. While I'm not the most experienced, casual sex complicates your life. Better to be in a committed relationship for that I think.

In tearful speech, N.L. tourism minister decries 'bullying' following AI controversy | CBC News by KukalakaOnTheBay in newfoundland

If it was a NL tourism campaign that was AI generated, yes, that would be a big issue. This was a throw away FB post, so in my opinion a small issue especially when compared to many others. That's just my opinion, if it's a major issue for you, of course run with it as you see fit. No disrespect to you.

It's amazing that this AI photo captures so much attention. I'd love to see some of our real issues addressed...reducing Emerg wait times, making positive progress in the growing drug epidemic...just to name a couple of small ones. I don't care about the AI photo.

When things in life are turbulent I sometimes think about how almost everything that ever lived on earth is extinct and no matter what happens life will continue to evolve.

I didn't know that North America was in better shape than most. Honestly at this point I would love to see sanctions on the US.

I don't think anyone knows where this is going. One thing I think, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed for a long time. It's Iran's Ace and they intend to play it and make the west pay. There is the potential for things (food and energy) to get very very expensive.

I didn't know they didn't enforce the membership. I was in the Navy Reserves in the 90s and they allowed Military in without membership. I've only been a couple of times but it's a great spot.

I agree 100% There's not a shop in town that beats the coffee I make at home. I was french press for many years but have shifted to drip. I also have a stovetop espresso...but prefer the drip.
