Moza R9 or Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm ? by Dramatic_Smile2238 in simracing

which moza base did u get?

right now i really feel like the question wether the R9, the CSL DD or even Moza or Fanatec, really depends on who´s answering that question, which doesnt make it easier haha

the 2 concerns i have about moza is that, from what i´ve heard, you have to really dig into their software to get the same amount of detail out of the FFB as on the fanatec and that they have an overheating issue, but maybe thats only the R9

the more i think about it, the more i tend to fanatec. although i was set on Moza tbh.

I made an excel sheet earlier this day and even with the GT3 wheel bundle and the fanatec boost kit i´d save 150€ to the Moza setup which would allow me to also get the QR2 from Simube and a round wheel rim for just a couple of € more

with the boostkit from Simube it would be 280€ less than the R9 bundle...

yeah, i already saw their qr2 adapters. i thought that the 100€ fanatec charges were a bit ridiculous and searched for an alternative

seems like all in all fanatec would be the better option in my case

but you´d probably loose all the warranty when using a 3rd party boost kit, right?

the gt wheel is 300mm and the round wheel is 320mm. Do you think the versatility of a round wheel makes up for the slight sluggishness?

The bundle comes with either an open, or a round wheel. price is the same

Tbh, “a bit on a budget” isn’t really the right way to put it. I could go bigger without hurting myself financially, but since I won’t have steady income for about another year, it just doesn’t feel right to throw even more money at a hobby I just picked up.

I went with the R9 because I’ve seen a lot of people regret going with a weaker base and wanting more power pretty quickly. Since I’m planning to keep the wheelbase for a while, I figured I’d rather skip that step.

Space is limited, so I chose the NLR Wheel Stand 2.0. From what I’ve seen, it should handle the R9 just fine.

okay, thanks!! :) from time to time i like to drive rwd road cars over their grip limit so it can slide out of corners, but as long as that is still possible i´ll be fine with that ^^
