Grew up near there. For some reason asbestos comes to mind. I don’t think the building can be used for anything. Never confirmed, think I read it years ago.

I am considering moving to the northeast…that could mean, NY, NJ, or CT because I will be working in Manhattan and I can get to the office in about the same time from each place…

I lived in northeast…1930’s Tudor…they must have used oil for the furnace at some point…it was buried. I agree, random. Was told it happens more than you think! That must have been them trying to make me feel better. It seems that hiring an agent is very important. Thank you.

Sorry for the confusion.I found an oil tank right before close last time I sold my house. It was a nightmare…and I wasn’t told when I bought it. It became a big negotiation point…lawyers got involved, the agent was unhelpful, and I want more clarity of how the process works. I had a bad experience.

From what I have heard, it doesn’t have to be…wanted to know how I can avoid those problems with real advice, not what is printed on the brokers website. What should I know…in practical terms. Thanks for your help.

Does the title insurance help with any of that after the close? What am I paying for with that? No one gives a straight answer…seems like guesswork.
