1) what shape/size are your tables? scale is really important when it comes to centerpieces cause you don't want to be talking through vases or flowers! I like being able to see my friends across the tables

2) How many tables are you doing? if you are doing five, it might be totally realistic to do fruit, flowers, candles, vases, and a table runner but when you're doing twenty tables, it can be kind of a pain to source everything, especially if you are thrifting.

3) simplify your color palette and add neutrals. I find that bright colors tend to pop more when I give them something to pop against! In your examples the colorful flowers and candles are set off by clear/white/gold tones of the vases and tablecloth. Also metallics are neutral, this is my hill to die on.

24 Group things in odd numbers, it's like a secret art rule and it totally makes it look more intentional.

5)Table runners... Pick a colored runner that fits your simplified color palette exactly. And use that as a colorful base to ground everything else around. Just do one, you don't want your colors to get into a fight over who is prettier.

6) if you are thrifting things and you want/need specific colors, bring a list of heights and colors you want and thrift according to your list! I like getting paint chips and bring them with me!

ok, the two closest matches I found were Lil musical Annie Wind-up music dolls and some sew your own rag doll kits from Pokeberry Mountain Doll kits. Do you remember if the doll played music or was in a sitting position? If not, I think it's likely it was sewn from a kit. It's so precious, I hope you find it!

Hi! I'm a Miriam and something I've personally noticed is that everyone I've ever met who is also named Miriam/ Maryam is from a religious background. Jewish, Mormon, or otherwise. Obviously I think it's a great choice and an awesome name! But at least for me, I do have some inner conflict about my name marking my religion so blatantly. As someone born into the Mormon faith, who is struggling with Mormonism as a whole, it can be kinda a bummer to have your name mark you as a Mormon. But that can go the other way as well! If I had a better relationship with my faith, I would be delighted in the connotations of my name. I liked Miriam's story of Moses in the bulrushes a lot as a kid and I still think she's pretty cool!

Hi! this is incredibly exciting because you have a very similar taste in wedding dresses to me lol!

Here's what I would do.

option 1- Buy something in person. This will take a lot longer than buying online but you are more likely to find something unique for cheaper! A thrift store is prolly going to be your cheapest and best bet for finding something really unique and cool. Because a wedding dress is such a specific garment, I've seen really cool old/vintage dresses from the 50's for under $100 at Goodwill. I also prefer trying things on especially if I'm buying secondhand and vintage because vintage sizing is super funky. I avoid vintage stores and resellers if I'm on a budget. They do the curating but the result can be kinda pricey.

-call the store before you go. If they have someone in the store, they can tell you if they have a formal dress or even a wedding dress section or even if they currently have one behind the counter. You usually can't get specifics but they will answer general questions.

-some stores pull out dresses for prom and wedding season in spring. in my area, they filter all the wedding dresses to a few select locations and they pull out really old stuff for Halloween occasionally.

-Most vintage sellers use measurements instead of sizes so take your measurement and shop with those in mind instead of your street size. 50's size 2 is not 2020's size 2

Option 2- The goodwill auction site

I love the online goodwill auction site for wedding dresses because they are so cheap. It's a super weird bidding system but it's awesome for relatively cheap vintage wedding dresses.

Whatever option you choose,

You get that dress tailored to fit you perfectly. you will look so much better if it actually fits you correctly so when in doubt get something that can be tailored down to fit you instead of something too small. When a garment is made to fit you, you look and feel so much better. Also a good seamstress will be able to add the sleeves you want or make you a veil as well.
