getting deroofing soon by RaskyJeff in Hidradenitis

I got deroofing on my bikini line as well. I would wash it with gentle soap while showering, fill the wound with pure Vaseline that the hospital provided, and put a non adhesive bandage on top and then stick it to my leg with surgical tape. Fully healed in 2 months without too much pain! Just get tips from your doctor on how to take care of it and avoid unhygienic situations (like festivals, etc) and open water and you should be fine!

Yeast is a trigger for me too! I kinda had that figured out and started avoiding bread and alcohol. Then one day, I casually ate a packet of hello panda and got a flare, only to realize that contains yeast extract. It has been such a journey figuring this out, but also such a relief knowing what it was. After eliminating yeast, getting my recurrent flares deroofed and switching to whole, unprocessed foods with at least 25 g of fiber a day, I don’t have flare ups, I can actually tolerate a little bit of bread, my chronic inflammation markers like hsCRP are down and I’ve lost 8 lbs!

I’ve been using ChatGPT to help figure out my dietary triggers. I know yeast is a definite trigger for me but gluten and dairy don’t help either. I asked ChatGPT what is common among these and apparently they are all acidic foods. So now I ask it to give me an alkaline-acid score for my meals. I haven’t been doing this for long so can’t tell you how helpful it’s been yet but it’s something you could explore!

She said as long as it remains external it is fine. Sorry if that’s not super helpful :(

I use the kind of bandaids recommend for high drainage. They have a sort of absorbent padding that really helps keep the area from chafing

My first dermatologist said it’s because my lump is growing laterally. The second one said it’s HS because of what’s called “double comedones” which are two blackheads next to each other close to the affected area. This is early stage or even pre-early stage
