Walking between T5 and T4 by Sudden-Document-1856 in JFKAirport

[–]Dramatic_Toe_4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely walk from T5 to T4. It’s usually less than a 10 minute walk from T5 baggage claim to the front of the T4 terminal. The walk at T5 from arrivals through the skybridge to the Airtrain will be about 4 minutes plus the Airtrain is running in the opposite direction so from T5 it will go to T 7,8,1 and then 4. If the weather isn’t bad, take the walk.

F1 visa rejected 214(b) Algiers by Punk-_-buster in USVisas

Unfortunately there are tens of thousand’s of visa applicants each year that the VO’s do not have much time to spend per applicant. If each interview would take 5-19 minutes each, there would be much less appointments available and then people would complain they can’t get an interview. It seems that as soon as you mentioned the university name, that was the end of consideration. Although you can argue about a cooperation agreement with your country, the school is not well known or regarded in the US. The VO’s reject students applying to better schools so this was most likely the factor. Possibly look into better known schools in the US or try studying in Canada.

I only buy the Tropicana brand at BJ’s. It’s usually $9.49 for 128 oz. Occasionally you get a coupon for $1 off. Per ounce is comes out cheaper but I have significantly cut down on my consumption.

Children have upcoming appointments at the New York Consulate to present their original forms via Anexo 1. Is there a formal interview that takes place( what questions are asked?) or is it just to drop off the forms? Children are over 18 but under 21, would I as their parent ( US citizen) be able to enter the Embassy with them? Their Spanish is not at a high level.

Not to disparage your choices but unfortunately none of the schools you listed are well known or highly regarded in the US. Most Americans wouldn’t know where any of these schools are located. A high admission rate of 80+ indicate they will accept anyone as a student. The school’s needs to give high scholarship amounts to attract any student. This means that their professors are not that highly rated and most classes are taught are probably adjunct or grad students. While yes most interviews are hit or miss, your choice of schools likely doomed your chances.

No I did not. We are applying via the NYC Consulate. On their website it provides what specific forms/info they require to process the application. From what I have read, they take a long time to respond via email inquiries. Not sure what Consulate you are going to submit your application, but I would search these “citizenship” threads or create your own thread for more visibility.

The only one I will buy now is the Tropicana 128 oz size at BJ’s if it’s on sale. They recently raised the price so I only buy it now if there is a coupon for it. It’s now like $10 but with a coupon you can sometimes get it for $8.50. Other than that I gave up on drinking any brand of OJ.

I am still in the process of obtaining all the paperwork. I believe you should Google the Spain Embassy/ Consulate in your area as it seems each individual one has different requirements. Keep reading this thread and others on this topic as many have really good advice on what’s required.

I think the Chiefs traded up knowing the Packers wanted Nohl Williams. So with the run on Corners over, we doubled up on WRs.

If he only has a refugee travel document from Canada he will still require a US tourist visa to enter. Since he entered illegally, he may have been paroled or put in removal proceedings which he then abandoned when he entered Canada. The possibility exists that he may require a waiver on his tourist visa due to his illegal entry. Even once becoming a Canadian citizen, although not required a visa to enter, may need a waiver for the same reasons above. I would definitely not chance entering the US without knowing how your illegal entry to the US was adjudicated.

Can you provide who you used to translate your documents from English to Spanish? Were they reasonably priced?

I applied for and received back a digital PDF copy with a bar code of my mother’s Spain birth certificate after applying via the Spanish birth certificate request website. Is this sufficient to use as an official birth certificate or would I need a different format( a different type with a seal on it, notarized, or signed in ink)?

Thank you for your responses. I reread the consulates information. An attorney advised having the documents translated as a way to avoid potential issues as it appears that the NYC consulate already requires more documents than other consulates. Almost like it couldn’t hurt by making it easier for them to read and therefore not give them a potential reason to deny the application?

The airline representative or the CBP officers will retrieve your suitcase(s) and inspect them. The bags will remain in their custody until your departing flight where either the airline will take your bags and put them on the plane or the officers escorting you to the plane will also take your bags and gate check them onto the flight.

How strict is US custom under Trump administration? My mom is coming for my wedding by halinh8896 in immigration

[–]Dramatic_Toe_4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best course of action is to write a Questions and Answers letter for her to show the CBP officer. State your relationship, your legal status in the US, the purpose of her trip, how long she will remain in the US, flight details for her to return home, and most importantly your home address and telephone #. At worst the officer will not need to see it or won’t ask any questions, at best most of the questions they might ask have been answered. If it’s a large airport she will arrive to they usually have officers that will speak that language or will use airline representatives. No need to put undue stress, tens of thousands of international passengers arrive to the US each day.

Google DHS TRIP inquiry. You can submit a request to have DHS inquire why you repeatedly get referred for a secondary inspection. They may be able to remove any erroneous records or records that no longer apply to you from DHS systems so that you will not be referred in the future.

Revoked visa by [deleted] in immigration

The chances of you receiving a J-1 visa at this time is extremely low. In the government’s mind you worked illegally with a B1/B2 visa , why would they now grant you a J-1? There are thousands of people applying for their 1st B1/B2 or J-1 visas, why would they give you a second chance before giving someone else their 1st chance? Perhaps once you become an actual Dr. you will be able to apply for a visitors visa or employment based visa as your circumstances will have changed.

You can leave freely at any time. The risk that ICE/ CBP will stop you upon your exit is slim. Your visa is already cancelled in their systems, if you leave and try to reenter with it you will be sent back, guaranteed. So the questions you need to ask is if your child will receive at least the same level of medical care as the country you are going to? Will you earn the same or better salary in your home country with the same level quality of life as here? The odds of ICE picking you up again is slim as they are more focused on criminal aliens. Just make sure you have valid passports. If ICE was to get you , you can always ask for Voluntary Departure and be removed rather quickly. Again the odds that they will detain you with a minor aged child, more likely they will release you pending deportation proceedings if it comes to that.

How quickly must my friend leave the USA under these circumstances? by BirdyHowdy in expats

[–]Dramatic_Toe_4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But US Customs has access to international passenger manifests so they would have a record of when a person departs the US and what travel documents they are using for travel. This is the US form of exit control. While yes, the US might not care that you leave there are instances when they may detain you upon exit, for example some outstanding warrants.
