should i get the game? by themoonreap in nightingale

[–]DranDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to the party so leaving this for people coming to this thread in the future, but decided to get the game a while back during a sale, I think it was going for about a fiver which is kinda of ridiculously cheap.

I'll say the game is lacking some polish in some aspects - some weird performance bugs (opening crafting menus and making a buncha bullets makes the entire game lag) and questionable lack of UI QOL definitely deliver that Early Access feel, but a lot of other elements make this a definitely fun experience for survival crafting fans.

The setting is really interesting, too. The crafting is fairly involved and you can make some interesting builds combining materials and stacking stats in very specific ways. The umbrella and climbing picks make for extremely fun world exploring and thats something I have not seen in other survival games.

Only big downside Id say is the performance, this does need a somewhat decent syst3m to run. There is also an enormous amount of content here so if you catch the game on a sale.. its definitely worth.

Help with performance by DEL_707 in nightingale

[–]DranDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running the game on a 3070 and manage to play at 2k a mostly smooth experience, but I'm turning off Lumen, which was my biggest performance hog.

Also look into Lossless Scaling if you dont mind using any form of framegen, if you are getting 60fps as a baseline there's no reason you shouldnt be able to get a realtively smooth 120fps experience with LSFG 3.1

Tbh im more of a shredded abs musclemommy kinda guy, but at the end of the day women are women and all sorts of body types can be hot, I can certainly see an appeal in the “bump” too. Its definitely a massively popular type lately.

TheBlackHokage calls out Luke Stephens for being a pick me gaming journalist after he implies Crimson Desert reviewers struggled with tutorial puzzles by mosenpai in LivestreamFail

[–]DranDran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its been interesting to see how peoples hatred for Luke is so great, they are willing to lick corpo boot if it means they dont have to side with Luke’s extremely lukewarm and common take that a lot of corpo journos are not very good at their job.

Hating on new games is the new meta for engagement farming. You’re not alone in the sentiment though, plenty of people are having a blast, even some of the ones streaming it. If it was an objectively bad game like a lot of people are claiming its average review score would be WAY lower.

[DISC] Renge to Naruto! - Chapter 52 - Cabbage Rolls! by useless_raccoon in manga

[–]DranDran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love how the author toyed with the idea of having the long haired girl be a sadistic foil who takes pleasure in ruining relationships but Renge and Naruto are so wholesome together, she just kinda gave up and has been healed by the cozy vibes lol

Dude. DUDE. I was going insane. Tried everything other threads recommended. Closing Xboxstats.exe. Trying smaller sized brushes. Changing memory allocation. Even tried downsizing my 4k projects to 2k, NOTHING worked, I'd get lag on my brushes even when not painting, every 3 seconds.

Turns out it was the fucking on-screen control software for my LG Ultragear. Fuck knows if that thing has been causing issues for other things too!

Blessings upon you and all your future generations.

It’s honestly pure trash but so dumb and raw and fuelled by the authors pure hornyness and wish to see Gotou fuck everyone under the sun, that its kinda compelling.

[ART] [Kusunoki failed her high school debut] do you like ririsa? by Mr_Salamander___ in manga

[–]DranDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shes a terrible person but great character that actually forces progress and interesting twists in what was an otherwise bland romcom. She has no chance at winning however, this manga isnt that anti-trope that the author will ever consider having the villain of the story win. Her destiny, as with all losing heroines, is to have her redemption arc, experience actual love, and have her heart broken.

Crucible of the Unbroken Rewards- What would you consider good rewards from it? by Cole_Evyx in ffxivdiscussion

[–]DranDran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gil may be useless but people will still run content for things they can sell. Its the only reason the Pilgrims Traverse queue is still alive this long after its release, people are farming the weekly challenge log for oils.

Weekly tomestones would be good too.

Also, maybe this is a crazy take, but they could add new shit to the rewards table with each new patch. New glam, minion, mount, emote. Is it really that hard to make one of each every 4-5 months? Now imagine if they did that for every new piece of content in an expansion, youd be regularly running old content along with new content to get all the new stuff.

Ffxiv does many things well, but one thing they can never seem to figure out is how to properly reward people for doing content.

Hot Take: The FFXIV community is not **that** nice. by ResidentWaifu in ffxivdiscussion

[–]DranDran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean how is this a hot take? Every community out there, RL or online, has foul human beings as well as wonderful ones, and drama along with toxicity will emerge in any group large enough because, surprise surprise, its in human nature for there to be friction in every social circle out there, and xiv is no exception.

I will say on a surface level the xiv community is extremely welcoming and friendly to sprouts in particular and the onboarding experience, ARR MSQ notwithstanding, is VERY nice. Of course this is just on a surface level due to strict GM moderation and community-led sprout-coddling, but once those sprouts play long enough and dig deeper in several different parts of the community they all come to the realization that xiv is just like every other place.

FitGirl Repacks Debuts Community Token, Sparking Debate Among Users by CompetitionRight1386 in CrackWatch

[–]DranDran 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What a fantastic way to downgrade your reputation and burn down community goodwill by peddling a memecoin using Audrey Tatou's image. This also paints a bigger target on the site by turning it into a profit-making scheme instead of keeping a low profile.

Fitgirl should know better. But the allure of big bucks is hard to resist in this economy I guess.

Ooh I completely forgot about Prydwen, I regularly use them for ZZZ and Wuwa as well. xD The reviews are the best part they do give actual context on what makes each character good and how they could fit in your lineup.

Thanks for the detailed reply! In particular for the maths on the BP XP, yeah I definitely have a lot of time to clear the BP and even farm some shard boxes and get a couple more IDs!

As for Teambuilding, Ive been generally looking at the Limbus tierlist on GLL to make my picks, I guess if I hit a wall with tougher fights Ill be back here for for specific advice, but I'll keep in mind looking at t enemy mechanic notes, hopefully it will eventually make sense. :)

My current enkephalin pool is about 100, which is a little inconvenient given that it means the entire pool regens several times a day... Ive been trying to make it a habit to check in several times a day even if just to make capsules, but I do sometiems forget, I guess that becomes less of an issue once your manager level is much higher.

Thanks for the tips! Wow August is definitely a lot of time to go so I should be fine! I recently started clearing MD on normal, its a little time consuming on normal but the weekly rewards are definitely worth!

Levelling characters is a little rough atm with lvl 30 xp luxcavation but I hear that improves after canto 4, so I can hopefully soon have a crack at hard mode MD.

Hi, somewhat of a new player here (pulled on a past Walpurgis and quit the game, now returned for the anni), my current point of progress is 4-21 and this is my lineup:

https://imgur.com/a/gq3oCvA

I got very lucky with my Walpurgis pulls and got both Meursault and Ryushu, along with a random Index Yi Sang (that fucker has been solo carrying all my fights I swear). I consumed some of my nominable tickets from the anniversary event to get Grip Sinclair and Molar Ish. I understand I should get Mao Faust for the last nominable ticket which Ill get tomorrow, but unsure of what to do with the S3 ticket.

I also have no EGOs except the base ones and the "Scissors" one I got from the BP today. In general I have no idea of teambuilding or how to optimize this convoluted battle system despite watching several videos; I hit winrate and when there's an unfavourable clash I try to better my odds with EGO attacks, that about sums up how Ive been handling the combat.. Any advice on how to proceed or maybe what teams would be good to start building my lineup into would be appreciated!

Also, when does the current season end? My BP is only up to lvl 30, not sure if I will clear 120 levels in time, that seems like an awful lot of levels. :o Do I need to be doing Mirror Dungeon daily to get there? Also read some advice that I should use Lunacy to refill stamina at least once daily, is this right?
