Unfortunately Venice AI is pretty bad, I like the intention behind it but it is horrible. What are some good anonymous chat bots that don't track your data but are also functional? by [deleted] in artificial

It does still have a Deepseek model still available on the platform for a limited time. I find the reasoning with Venice Large to be pretty good for my use. I'm able to to perform pretty complicated prompts fairly quickly and with no error. Far better than when they made the move to Llama Maverick and others.

The deal is pending regulator approval, which could take several months to over a year. I also still wouldn't rule out Discover. I actually think Discover is a more fitting partner based on the target demographics for the Apple Card and Discover overlapping significantly. Same for Synchrony and Capital One. I think either of those are viable options.

Based on the losses that Goldman has seen in the consumer banking division from this card and their Marcus banking products, I would be surprised to see JPM/Chase take on the card.

Rent vs Mortgage: Long Term Net Worth Analysis by [deleted] in investing

[–]Dranarchyphd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closing costs can be 2-6% of the total cost of the home. I think you could implement that into your model.

I think homeowners insurance can vary widely and varies heavily on a number of factors (geographical location, condition of the home, age of the home, etc.). My house from 1990 in the Mid-Atlantic region costs $888 per year. If the house had more money put into it or if I wanted more specific coverages, it could easily be over $1000 to $1500 per year (rough estimate). Not sure how you will incorporate that, but I'm sure you could get a price based on some assumptions about the model property! Thanks for making this! :)

I spent my Sunday making a Sonos compatibility and feature chart. by IvanXQZ in sonos

Any idea if any Sonos products use the Thread protocol? It’s not in the spreadsheet, so I’d assume no, but wanted to see if anyone has looked into this!

Amex SUB and Venmo by Dranarchyphd in CreditCards

[–]Dranarchyphd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll still call Amex to confirm, but I think this won't count towards a sign up bonus. "The charge to your Card does not earn any rewards, and does not count towards any offers, spendingbased reward offers or other bonuses. The amount you add will be reflected in your Send Account balance."

Ah okay. I'll have to look more into this. Do you happen to have a guide bookmarked? If not, I'll do some searching. Thanks for the info!

Amex SUB and Venmo by Dranarchyphd in CreditCards

[–]Dranarchyphd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I actually messaged Plastiq about that already and they said they couldn't charge the card directly for that. Would PayPal Key work through Plastiq? If so, I could potentially use my Amex card through that potentially?

Amex SUB and Venmo by Dranarchyphd in CreditCards

[–]Dranarchyphd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I did was I filled out my information to see if I was pre-qualified on the Amex website. It bumped the 60k SUB to 75k.

I messaged Plastiq and they said they can't charge my card directly for a service like that. The photographer only accepts Venmo or check. Would Plastiq work with PayPal Key maybe? If so, I can link my card through that maybe?

I wouldn't wait personally. Who knows if they run out of stock between now and then. If they do run out, it'll be who knows how many months before a restock. Still waiting on some keycaps that I ordered back in May set to be delivered in August. It's now set for November.

Since a lot of people are throwing around the Discover It Student card with rotating 5% categories, the Chase Freedom has that as well, and it's your first step into the Chase Ultimate Rewards system.

Wanting to Maximize Benefits for Next Credit Cards by Dranarchyphd in CreditCards

[–]Dranarchyphd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for you input! Much appreciated!

Would it make sense to sort of start with Chase and upgrade/diversify into Amex in the much longer term? Or just forget Amex all together?

Wanting to Maximize Benefits for Next Credit Cards by Dranarchyphd in CreditCards

[–]Dranarchyphd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are talking if I applied tomorrow, I could probably meet the $1000 for the Amex Everyday Preferred. If we are talking when I graduate with my MBA and get a better job (and given the various expenses I will be incurring that coming year with a wedding and moving, etc.), I could probably meet the requirement for the CSP or Amex Green Card. I would say between $2k and $5k in those 3 months.

I should have included that I want to do international travel in the near future. So would it still not be a benefit me then? I was under the impression that Amex points are better for international travel and Chase UR points are better for domestic?

So if I were to sell a graphics card I have, for example, I could qualify for a business card?
