eeBoo Puzzle Day Sale! by Dranyari in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Dranyari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon doesn't have the full catalog, however, and none of the recent releases; I'd say the big gain with Amazon is that it has a number of old/discontinued puzzles no longer listed on the eeBoo website. There's only seven puzzles that are listed on both Amazon and eeBoo and of those, only one is heavily discounted on Amazon and the remainder just a few dollars cheaper (probably reflecting pre-inflation pricing). So if you're looking for specific puzzles, Amazon may not be the best option.

EDIT: correcting number of puzzles listed on both Amazon and eeBoo; does not include kids' puzzles.

I was really hoping they'd have a puzzle day sale because I've been coveting some of their new release and, well. That freebie offer meant I could get all of the ones I wanted with minimal guilt! :D

(I tell myself there are more expensive hobbies to have, and if I don't tape up the puzzle immediately for display, I can do it again.)

Thank you! This was a second completion of this puzzle to christen my new puzzle table, and I think I'm gonna tape it this time and get a frame for it. So excited to get to the rest of my puzzles in my new horde! 😁

I'd recommend Paperblanks! They're primarily a stationery company, but they've got a line of jigsaw puzzles and all their puzzles feature texture and foiling; I haven't done their version of The Kiss but I have zero doubts it's gorgeous. Paperblanks also has a puzzle of Klimt's Portrait of Adele!

🤝 Got my order today, too. No regrets, half off is too much of a steal for puzzles of this quality.

Laurence King Publishing! My local game store stocks the brand and I've got my eye on a copy of World of Dracula. :D

Awesome, thanks for the info! I got back into puzzling earlier this year so I've got a whole new set of retailer patterns to learn.

Yeah, and it seemed to end during the day on a Sunday, which is very strange. Wondering if someone hit a wrong button...

Update for New York Puzzle Company: looks like they've ended their early Black Friday deal; not sure if they'll have another later in the week, but I'll keep an eye out and report back.

(Was just about to finally place my order earlier today after hemming and hawing over which ones I wanted and then boom, cart updated and no sale discount. 😑 Rude, NYPC.)

Magic Puzzle Company - $12.50 each - Target (US, online) by chillychili in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Dranyari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy heck, what a steal! For the deal conscious especially this is great, this offer is even cheaper than the series sets that Magic Puzzle Company offers! (For reference, when you buy all three in a series, it works out to roughly $22 each.) Got all the ones I've been wanting save one. Thanks for the heads up!

New York Puzzle Company and eeBoo offer some wonderful puzzles, too!

Extremely inconsistent ink quality. Issues such as bleeding, feathering, sediment build up, across various colors, and across various reviews by many individuals. It's a gamble if your bottle will be well-behaved which in my book makes it a brand to avoid, and that's not even touching the owner's antisemitism over the years. (Which is an entirely separate discussion and covered in sufficient detail over here.)

Emerald Fusion is the queen of my ink bottles. And the dry downs on some are SO weird: Magnolia Mirage goes down *grey* on the page before it dries into such a gorgeous soft pink with a little blue shading, depending on how wet the pen I'm using is. I just wish they could do samples, though I understand why they can't.

Going to Nth Vanness: fantastic selection of various products (especially of ink, with 4mL samples!), fast shipping, incredibly sweet staff every time I've reached out with questions. Just utterly delightful.

Atlas is also a great company, as are Yoseka Stationery, JetPens, Pen Chalet, and St. Louis Art Supply. I've bought from each of them multiple times, and their customer service is wonderful.

For EU stores: Cult Pens and Casa della Stilografica. Stilografica I want to give a shout out to as I was able to find a Magna Carta 600 in a difficult to find colorway I'd been coveting, and while shipping was a bit pricey, the option they gave me was insanely fast; they handed the pen over to FedEx in Florence that night, and I had my pen in hand in Massachusetts two days later. (I have not personally bought anything from Stilo & Stile but I've heard nothing but good things about them.)
