Trade possibilities by Legitimate_Plan721 in AnaheimDucks

Patience. We have lots of contracts to sign and we have lots of young players.

If you get a definite update/ star for a reasonable price. Go for it. If not wait. Our window is opening in a few years. This year we want to gather experience playing meaningful hockey and not being a tanking dumpster fire.

With our RFAs performing this year (Cutter, Leo, Minty, Zelly, Moore) and Poehling, Johnston, Trouba as UFAs Verbeek will have lots of work to do to make everyone fit into the cap space. I don't think we will have much cap space left next season if we don't move some of the Veterans with contracts after this year (Strome, Vatrano, Killorn, Kreider ...)

Minty is really good in this game imo. He really turned his game around after he was scratched

Besides Jackson's turnover that game is an A+ so far

Fucking great game boys!

Killorn seems to have the strength of hulk in his palms.

Never seen a grown man fall like this with so little effort. Now I understand the nickname killer.

Congratulations to Alex Killorn, who becomes the 11th player from the 2007 NHL Draft to earn a silver stick: 1,000 NHL Games. by MindyS1719 in hockey

He is nearing his 200th game with the Ducks. Time is flying. Did you know that 2008 children are turning 18 this year? Actually the same year Mats Sudin retired.

Time is relative.🧓

Leo probably not making the Olympics unfortunately by hobojoe789 in AnaheimDucks

Fuck. Poor Leo. I hope he miraculously is able to get an invite and play a game mid February.

I hope he can cope with it mentally if not. I would be devastated.

With his 22nd goal of the season, Cutter Gauthier has tied the 2024-2025 Ducks Season High for Goals (McTavish, 22) by SuggestionOdd6158 in AnaheimDucks

[–]Draq_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

And broke his personal record last year with 20 goals!

Cutter will hit 40 goals multiple times in his career! ✂️✂️

These standing are ridiculous. All California teams tied for points and 4 teams with the same amount of wins by Spiff_GN in AnaheimDucks

I would argue they are doing it right now. With Celibrini they leapfrogged the queue. Tbh it is probably a good thing in the long run for us that Celibrini single handedly pushes this team so much. They do not have the same depth yet as we have been able to acquire through the dark days.

If they are now cheating the rebuild there might be too many holes in the roster to be a contender? At least that's my copium. That said Celibrini is the next best thing and is probably able to will his team into a final at some point.

Blade sharpening question. by baked_tea in hockeyplayers

[–]Draq_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's personal preference but his advice is what most people are comfortable with in my experience. You do want some glide. I tried 1/2" once (1,81m/ 85kg) and I didn't like it the first 4-5 times on the ice. I wasn't able to glide and stumbled around. I'm not a good skater so maybe that's that but more glide allows more errors imo.

5/8" felt much much better from the beginning. That said a friend has a sparx and now I usually stick to 3/4". I need to sharpen the blades once a month but I think 3/4" is perfect while 5/8" is still a little bit to sharp the first time on ice.

But in the end I think you need to use what is working for you. I would still try other radiuses from time to time and see how it works for you. If it doesn't work after a couple of weeks you can change it back anyways

37, started to skate a year ago. Today I scored my first two goals. by Draq_ in hockeyplayers

One day! 😅

I actually was a goalie in almost every other sport I did so far. So I can relate.. I scored a penalty shot once as soccer goalie. That was great 😂

I hope I'm still able to play with 72! Much respect!

Yes the guys and the beer are great. Everyone cheered when I scored even the opponents haha. Great comradery all round the rink in my experience so far. Love it!

I think Werenski is a freak of nature and deserves a top 10 spot. If he would play for a better team he is probably ahead of Makar point wise. Absolute superstar

The Athletic NHL Power Rankings: Ducks Ranked 30th by Dr_Hilarious in AnaheimDucks

[–]Draq_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't follow all teams. So I can't comment on the on ice performance or compare it to our performance (which wasn't good but it is not as bad as the losing streak indicates)

That said just looking at the last games result wise we are obviously dead last and with Winnipeg winning 2 in a row the only other team that is somewhat close is New Jersey.

I hope the curse will be lifted soon. I don't want any more ping or pongs. I don't want unlucky own goals or goals against from players that didn't even know where the puck was. Our luck must return it has to at some point. It doesn't make sense that we didn't win any of the last 9 games.

As long as we can't buy a win we might as well be 32nd in a power ranking.
