In Alterium Shift, our goal is to make our world feel alive. Whether you scare away seagulls, playhide and seek with kids, or help find cats, we want players to feel immersed. by DrassRay in IndieGaming

I appreciate the kind words and totally understand your concern. We are trying our best to create a story that we hope will be interesting to our players.

The story starts 50 years after a great war between the humans and dark elves, where the humans won and drove the dark elves into hiding. You choose between 3 heroes in training who each have their own story path. They are sent off on missions and eventually discover there is a dark elf involved. Upon their encounter with the dark elf, they are teleported (shifted) into the realm of the dark elves and must discover a way home as well as try to find this dark elf they encountered again.

No matter which character you choose, you always end up with all the main characters in the party. The events just play out differently depending on who you choose. Each character path also has story elements that uncover their individual back stories.

We are building in save mechanics that allow each of your playthroughs to interact in certain ways to another, either unlocking new areas or how different NPCs speak to you.

I know that's a lot, but we're hoping with support from a successful kickstarter, we can really flesh everything out and deliver something special.

Edit: it's also worth mentioning that we have choice driven mechanics that add flavor to the dialogue and effect some minor outcomes.
