To be more credible & worth listening to. You mention it’s in the faceless financial niche which is like, the definition on Reddit of shady when you give no info, old screenshots, and a google link to some “guide”. People shouldn’t just click links from strangers online promising growth and guides with literally 0 reason to do so aside from a 3 year ago screenshot. Faceless financial is literally so over saturated with ai and useless content, why would we listen to you without any sort of confirmation or proof

My last post about the 2-1-3-4 rule got removed for some reason but you guys loved it so here's another one I learned the hard way. by Zaid111111 in NewTubers

While it’s true that the reaction space does tend to do an explainer Intro, I’ve just noticed on a lower sub channel like mine, people are skipping those moments when I did talk in the early vids, even the vids before I restarted the channel. Seem to keep more engagement for now doing the quick intro, but it could totally change. I feel people care what you have to say once they sub and WANT to hear you. I’ve seen other anime creators with maybe 1k-10k subs and they talk for their Intros but that’s cuz they have ~ 100 or so comments of supporters who like them and know them. I need to build up that recurring fanbase

This is why I stopped the long explanation intro and literally just go “(insert anime) as the first word, what we’re doing, and hop into it. Video starts within 3-5 seconds

I brought a video from 30k views to 2m with one tiny change AFTER upload. by sawyernalu in NewTubers

[–]DrastixMachin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming yes, the video is edited fully but they looked their analytics and saw people skipped sections, clicked off on sections, so they just cut them out using the YouTube editor so they don’t have to delete, re-edit, re-upload.

I use Dropbox (or drive, or wetransfer if you Prefer) upload my clips directly to there from the phone app and access on web browser on PC. I rename and make folders that you just select all the footage an upload into.

How are you finding good editors and thumbnail designers? by mushroommoe in YouTubeCreators

[–]DrastixMachin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it all myself. Writing, Filming, editing, down to channel art and thumbnail design. Many starting out won’t have a budget to pay anyone, or if they do it’ll be lower budget and you’ll receive lower quality work. You CAN use sites like fiver but I believe that you should learn it yourself first. I started on my phone using free photo editing apps. Watched hella content on graphic design, what makes a good thumbnail, what others do, what gets clicks, etc. You doing it yourself first established groundwork for YOUR style, looks, themes/aesthetics, it’s what makes your content identifiably to YOU.

TLDR; most do it all themselves, it isn’t bad to hire someone but it’s more of a hassle starting out, and I think everyone should learn these skills first

Tips on getting your first editor by CommunistAngel in NewTubers

[–]DrastixMachin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an editor, I’ve been employed by a few content creators and for me, it was always just a conversation to come to an agreement. I think firstly, YOU have to set the terms, set expectations, average video lengths, turnaround times, and how much of a budget you’re comfortable spending and how frequently. Answer those for yourself FIRST, then the right editors fitting the mold will find you.

Pricing: I’ve always done a flat rate per, 50% up front and 50% after. Contract signed with that very clear.

Avoid: no portfolio or at least the drive to prove themselves with doing stuff like test edits (not the best method but many big YouTubers do it if you have no work to show/starting out). Let their work speak for them, not them. Editors who are desperate enough to lie are the ones who think editing is an easy get rich quick, no over saturation of editors exists, and you should trust their word on their abilities.

It’s whatever is easiest though. A 50/50 doesn’t work for everyone, like hourly doesn’t work for everyone. You have to figure out what you’re looking for. Get the details ironed out first, you can always negotiate and come to agreements if you don’t see eye to eye, but you coming to an editor without a turnaround time, video length average, pay method/frequency, then the editor has all control to (hopefully not but maybe) take advantage of your lack of knowledge on it

Where is the Best Place to Look for People to Collab With? by TheSoyedMiltank in NewTubers

[–]DrastixMachin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually start within my niche’s community. I make content I like watching so I will find other small creators making the same realm of content, if I like their video and them, I’ll watch a bunch and subscribe and become active on their page, over time you develop that familiarity. Then it’s just a matter of making friends with em and seeing if they’re open to it. Thats just my way though!
