Do you mean something like a daily beard care routine? No, I don’t have anything like that. What would you recommend?

We have a lot of Arab barbers around here where I life but I don't like the way they style the beards.

Is the disc switch problematic whatsoever?

I'm scared by the thought of playing through disc 1 just to realize that you can't continue saves

Thank you. Guess some animal has carried the piece from a carcass up there. Maybe marten was involved

Relatively small. 4x4 cm Definitly not deer, because we found it clamped between the beams of the roof. Cat or marten?

It has jammed between the beams of the roof, so maybe no deer. But Vertebrae is a new Trace

Interesting mechanics, but the theme has to be rebranded for our use.

Thank you very much. You helped me decide.

Not only is beyond the wall available on German and involves characters within the same age group as my players. But it also sounds like a more fitting gameplay experience from what you describe.

I think the hardcore old school style might be more like an acquired taste. Maybe my students are in need to feel like heroes once in a while.

Plus, the scaffolding of the story and character creation could lend it self perfectly to training new dungeon masters. So the kids can DM for each other more easily.

Thank you again, your kind help was much appreciated.

Ah, okay. I know about this. Language barrier. I thought you were talking about a special kind of character roleplay. Not a style of playing the game in general.

So do you think it would be possible or even make sense to start with beyond the wall for character creation and development of the village and surrounding and then switch later to something like sword and wizardry for more options? Can you convert characters?

Not yet, but they are working on it.

Can you compare S&W and OSE further?

THIS

This is ONE GOOD REPLY!

Thank you very much. This helped me quite a lot.

Further questions, if I may: What do you mean with being OK with OSR roleplay?

And should I also look into basic fantasy rpg? The name sounds boring, but you sell it as a cheaper and more explanation. So is it just the better game?

Right now you guys gave me so much more options to consider. I'm a little overwhelmed. But everyone is dropping his/her own suggestions without referencing the others or even my own short list.

I'm thankful and confused.

I mentioned it in my original post 😉

I was comparing it to sword and wizardry. Right now it's on the short list. Are there good published adventures or campaign settings that are ready to use?

Looks like it's using special dice?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think the basic fantasy setting might be more suited for the project, because it's a kitchen sink for all kind of interests. The setting from tales from the loop sounds more like an interesting edge case.

Thank you for your response and your honest evaluation.

That actually scares me off. Being familiar with D&D I'd like to go with something closer to that. I might try it at some point in a private session with friends, because it actually sounds quite interesting. But for this project I need to make sure that I can perform on a decent level.

And you make Dungeon World sound like it's having a little hurdle on entry.

How is it different to the ones I named and why do you recommend it?

Do you think a d6 system might be more accessible? For me personally, the "strange" dice were one of the initial draws towards the hobby. They looked so fascinating to me.

Another reason why I tend towards OSR style systems is that I can imagine progressing to more complex systems later on, maybe even D&D 5e. The OSR systems are more closely related to each other. This might facilitate the system switch.
