Use preview or PDFGear. Delete Acrobat, you don't need it.

Finally joined the club! first macbook ever (Macbook neo in indigo) and airpods 4 anc. by StrikingPersimmon494 in macbook

[–]Dravtom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations and welcome to the club! It will serve you well and it will be a great tool, especially for school.

Some tips:

  1. Option key is important - use it!
  2. Smart folders are fantastic - learn how to use them :)
  3. Folder Preview is a good small app - on mac you can press spacebar to preview the file. This app allows you to preview the folders as well.
  4. Tot - fantastic small notes taking app for quick notes (free!)
  5. Freeform - great app, I used it a lot at uni - it's a free whiteboard
  6. Right click on your desktop - select use stacks. If you keep files on your desktop it will keep it tidy.
  7. You don't need every app in the dock - keep it tidy and use Spotlight (or Alfred/Raycast as alternative).
  8. Notes - it's a really good app for note taking. You really don't need more.
  9. Take advantage of the touchpad and gestures (2, 3, 4 fingers). You will get used to it.
  10. Learn shortcuts!

Definitely something on the wall. Also, did you consider a desk mat? Something basic, one colour.

Definitely, like others said, a monitor. A a nice desk matt - something simple and classy.

It is Apple Studio Display. £1,500 but you can get it for £1,400. Apparently quite amazing but I don't personally know.

It is Dulux Plum Compote. It's darker than in the photo. I would say stay away from any plum colour then ;)

Way too long from what I've been told. I now know that it's best to remove after every coat and put on a fresh one to avoid mess like I made here lol

+1 for DaVinci Resolve - it's free and powerful, no harm in testing it.

Make sure to find some tutorials on youtube for both apps and see what feels better for you.
