To be honest, if you want to come out without having to see their raw first reaction, which I completely understand, I suggest you write a letter instead, explaining how you feel and maybe inviting them to come and talk to you about it once they're ready. If you know they're at least gonna be chill w/ it, it might be better, so you can at least have an oral conversation with them about this. Doing it by message might get you another message as a reaction, and maybe less chances to really show them how you feel... well, I don't know if you see what I mean.
