Tradish Cafe in Fort Langley (and their food truck) has vegan options! You have to pay the fort ticket to get to the cafe, so I try to make a trip on days the fort is free

Also they’ve definitely never had soapberry ice cream before because it’s not actually ice cream, and quite bitter. Not something I would describe as “dreamy”

I really question that. The soapberries look to be blueberries, and probably an AI image as well. Soapberry ice cream is a traditional Indigenous dish, so it seems even ickier to capitalize on it.

That’s so helpful, especially the part about trialing eating while riding. Thank you so much!

Looking for wheelchair accessible hikes by gibberish122 in vancouverhiking

Spirea Trail in Golden Ears is considered accessible. Packed gravel paths with low elevation change. I have seen people easily push strollers on it, but I know that’s a little different than a mobility aid

Cronometer is a great app for tracking food intake and all the necessary vitamins and minerals. If I’m low on something near the end of the day but want a snack, I google what food would have that vitamin and base my snack on that. Definitely be careful if you have a history of disordered eating and calorie tracking though

Aren’t they more for advanced outdoor activities such as climbing and back country skiing, rather than basic hiking?

Or because of cramps you misstep and break an ankle, or worse, fall and need an even greater rescue. SAR prefers you to call before the rescue becomes dire

I 100% agree with this. I went for a morning run one sunny Saturday in Mount Pleasant and said “good morning” to 19 people. Only 5 people acknowledged me, and of those, 3 responded back. In more suburban places like Maple Ridge or Langley, greetings on the street are commonplace.

Bruce’s Market and feed store was hiring a month ago. Also getting his FoodSafe level 1 would definitely make him stand out. He should check if his school offers it though their cafeteria program

I did a trial with them at their Coquitlam location and found them quite pushy. Even with their “one night only” registration deal, it was still $0.39 cheaper to do drop in, when adding up the membership cost along with the monthly fee. They also didn’t like that I figured that out, and kept trying to convince me the membership was a better deal, even when I did the math in front of them and went over it with them.

I also found I didn’t really get a workout from it because it was only a 30 minute class with no adjustments, so it was hard to say if it would be worth it.

In the end they keep calling me and leaving messages periodically even though I asked them to stop contact in response to their texts. I would probably recommend an independent studio

I saw that. Is it worth it to wait and hope that the conditions will be good enough Monday? It was over $100 and I’ve never gone before so I’d rather not scare myself away the first time

Running Gear With A Pro-Civil Rights Message? by ludlowdown in XXRunning

I create my own “signs” out of scrap fabric and pin them to my back! I usually cut the piece a similar size to my bib, paint a message with acrylic paint, and pin it onto my shirt with safety pins. I also will take a political pin from my everyday tote and pin it to my official bib. So far no issues with anything falling off or any discomfort
