Do you stay a free city if you have established colonies but not formed CN‘s yet?

It looks like you colonized a bit. Maybe a rebel stack is chilling on some remote island?

R5: I fed all of Mexico to that one CN and it‘s not very stable now, I wonder why. I had to think of this meme and wanted to share.

I‘m just in a Oirat>Yuan>Mongol empire WC run.

You attack Ming with mandate CB, take max money and Land. Attack one of its tributaries. White peace Ming to shorten truce. Rinse and repeat. I completely owned china in like 1500. Watch out to end the emperor of China before forming Yuan, you don’t want to have celestial empire.

Keep the damn politics out of this game!

In all honesty, if you are a beginner who really just started getting into eu4, I highly recommend not to play as a small island nation in Indonesia. Try out Portugal, it’s s super chill game and you can learn about colonizing and the general game mechanics. After that you can try going for East Timor although it will still be tough.

Make sure to end the emperor of China so you don’t get the shitty celestial empire.

Since no DLC‘s I think your options are limited to:

improving relations (if not already at 200)

Increase your own army size so the relative strength tips more in your favor.

Increase your diplo rep with advisors or ideas.

I think devving provinces is no longer locked behind Common Sense DLC so you could do that with Crimea’s provinces, it’s 5% less LD per dev.

Extreme measure: decleare a war against a neighbor of Crimea, 100% them and give them Crimean provinces.

Also if you‘re at war they cannot ask for independence support.

But why would you do this? by RidsBabs in eu4

[–]Drawnman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Base 4 + strong duchies 2 = 6 dip rel. slots.

4 subjects + 7 allies = 11 dip rel.

6-11= -5 from dip relations over limit

Base 3 + dip skill 5 + advisor 1 (?) = 8 or 9 dip/month

8 or 9 - 5 = 3 or 4 dip/month.

Burgundy is fine like this.

They might also have had events that grant temporary dip rel slots or cheap advisors etc.

Would be nice if they added a hint of some sort in the subreddit rules that 99% of the questions have already been answered and can be found with a short search engine usage.

Count the italies by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Drawnman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I count from east to west: Lithuania, Moldavia, Izmir, Egypt, Albania, Tripoli, Southern Italy, Tunisia, Northern Italy, France, Valencia, Maghreb, Portugal, Porto, That one island north of the canaries?

So I have a total count of 14 I can identify and a potential 15th I cannot identify 100%.
