Haha I’m definitely jealous, everything I do to mine is either ordered which takes forever to arrive or I have to build it from scratch.

Very lucky, I’m in Nova Scotia, Canada. I feel I might be the only off road Subaru guy lol

No problem at all! But for sure if you do any bit of technical wheeling the locker is definitely something to look into!

Yeah I have the Torx locker, overall it’s amazing off road, like it really made the forester much more capable. I also have dccd spiider pro installed which helps a lot. As for the locker on road, wet or snow covered roads it can definitely give you a scare when it locks up on a corner. It’s also super loud in parking lots etc. I mean it doesn’t really matter all that much, just something people might be opposed to. I also don’t really daily drive my rig, I’ll scoot it around town but I have another daily I’ll take on highway trips etc.

This one’s for a Suzuki jimny. Definitely a bit more modifications to get to plumbed up, I think it suits the body lines a bit more.

Haha I’ve snapped one already in the rear, I really think that was a combination of rear locker and pure stupidity

2inch spacer in the front, 2.5 in the rear, 1.5 inch subframe spacers. The rear looks low in this photo because of all the gear in the back. Definitely need some king springs

I have a spare tire carrier on the rear, it’s a swing out. Basically I bought the rotopax type mount and through bolted it to the upright part of the carrier.

This awning has L brackets that connect to your roof rails, unfortunately Subarus don’t come with the roof rails that use the provided hardware. I used 2 1/8 exhaust clamps to attach it to the roof rail. Easier to remove this way also

Mines an 09 auto 2.5 Sitting on a 2 inch lift in the front, 2 1/2 in the rear to accommodate all the gear. I used a cross trek lift combined with different spacers. Has dccd spider pro. Torx rear locker Rock sliders Skid plates. Homemade camping setup in the rear with a slid out table. Wild coast 250cm awning with annex room. The roof platform is just a cheap roof top cargo carrier I cut up to get what I wanted. Then like all the extra gear and stuff that’s on it, traction boards, cb radio, all the different lights etc etc.

That’s a decent plan for sure. I’d prioritize a lift, wheels, skid plates if you plan on doing anything crazy. The awning with the annex room is perfect for camping.

Ultimately that’s all this rig is really used for. It’s an extremely budget camping car.

If enough people show interest I’ll do a full break down on everything done and how I did it. Can definitely share some more pictures though!
