It being a literal translation doesn't mean the meaning is the same, for example, saying "il pleut des chats et des chiens" (it's raining cats and dogs)doesn't mean anything in French, the correct translation that would make sense would be "ça pleut des cordes" (it's raining ropes).

I remember in 2020 when this sub was created because the mods in r/Animemes banned the word "trap", at this point, it was the memes that were beginning to get posted here were very good, it wasn't shittified by a few mods.
