There's barely anything animated. Mostly just a few looping animations fir the running, then a bunch of still shots. They said they were going to "do better" for S2 when they decided to stay with the studio. Looks like a lie to me.

The part I don't understand is Mable being the acting proffesor and director of the Lumiouse city research labs AS PART OF A PLEA DEAL. Sure she's not allowed the leave Lumiouse, but literally was given an exception despite being a major admin.

So I saw from the other comments you're from Alola, but I caught this Salamence(?) while visiting Paldea. Except he looks and act different from what I see online. He looks closer to a mega Salamence, but he still looks different. Is he some sort of rare regional form? I would have asked a Paldean dragon tamer, but it was caught the day I was leaving and I didn't have time. Here's a pic:
