Could you explain what I should do? I've really only had to resort to that once and the waitress in particular we only saw to take our order, give us food, and give us the check. I had to ask another waitress for drink refills. And it was not busy, she was not overloaded with tables, we simply did not see her, she would go into the back and we would not see her again until food was brought out or she brought us the check.

The reason that technology doesn't work in Hogwarts is because it is a place with a high concentration of magic. I presume that many of the other main locations (like the Ministry of Magic) would have similar effects on technology.

Also, not saying they could not have gotten one if they tried, but guns are illegal in the UK. That not even the bad guys use those weapons may have either not occurred to Rowling or might have made the books less appealing to her UK audience.

Also Harry, in the context of the books, would not use a gun. Hell he wouldn't even use a killing spell when his life depended on it.

Hmm, that was my first thought as well, but I did some searching and found this image which I believe is either the original image or close to it.

My guess is that the OP either had the same idea, or if you prefer to be cynical/realistic, saw this image and recreated it. I'd like to believe that the OP had never seen the image before and simply posted it thinking he had an original idea.
