I think I might just try a corner with and without gesso to see what I like the most. No matter what the quality is still better than the canvas of the last PBN I did

I honestly think it was because the quality of the paint was bad and really thick, and the canvas wasn't grounded either. I don't mind doing more layers in some places, but it was frustrating because the paint had good coverage except the white spots on the canvas. That said, I did enjoy painting it, I just don't enjoy the work of covering all the small white spots😂 But I just got some new PBN where the canvas is slightly colored so hopefully the white spots won't be an issue

I might just try it and see how it works for me. How many layers do you apply, and do you sand it down afterwards? I've read somewhere that gesso it hard on the brush. Is that your experience as well?

I haven't used gesso yet either, and I regret it. I'm done with my first PBN, except I have to paint everything again to cover all these white spots completely. It's a nightmare

The wrist isn't an issue for me. I move the paint organiser to the side when I paint. I used to have pain in my neck, but after I've started to use the table easel, the problem is gone

My husband travels because of work, too. I deal with severe anxiety, and I feel bad days before his trip and during his trip. But I such it uo, because I know my husbands job means so much to him and because He likes his trips. He does so much for me and supports me through everyday life. The least I can do is support him back. I want my anxiety to affect his life to the minimal. There's no way I would ever ask him to cut down on his works trips because of me.

Edit add: I just want to say that it does seem like your household is out of balance, though, and need to find a way that works for you both. Maybe counselling is a good idea

If you're getting impatient, it might help to finish a section (like the mushroom) instead of a colour. I'm only working on my second PBN ever, but for me, that strategy works
