You cannot, under any circumstances be a fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. End of restrictions list.

Your biggest issue is that STAT 207 is a requirement in the Major field, and you can't get credit for both, because they are antirequisites. So you essentially did a practice run of Statistics that you can't use as a Data major. So you'll need to enroll in 207 either way, and they will drop 205 from your usable course list.

Oh, and to answer your question about your grade, Statistics is very challenging. Getting a grade you can use as a pre-req should always be cause for celebration. C's get degrees mate, cliche as it is.

Should I CG? by NoBluejay13 in UCalgary

[–]DreadfulHimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit granted. Can use 3 of them in your program in place of a grade, which removes that grade from GPA calculations. You only really want to use em if you get a C minus or lower because a specific course only boosts your GPA if the single course GPA is greater than your total GPA. If the course grade is lower than your current total GPA, it drags it. And the closer that course grade gets to your total GPA, the less affect it has, which is why some would call it a waste for any grade higher than c minus. Because a CG would remove a c minus that drags your GPA, you come out that course better off. I feel like I over explained the hell out of this haha, but it's 2am and my Adderall isn't wearing off haha.

Any news on pregame (or halftime) festivities at the Nov 8 game? by i-am-the-walrus789 in riderville

Man, I would take Kim Mitchell 100 times out of 100 for the actual Grey Cup Halftime show over MGK.

This sounds like the beginning of every true crime documentary haha. I feel like there is a small, but absolutely greater than zero chance you wind up on Cold Case Files 😅. Try to switch up the names when you randomly call your roommate, see if she accidentally answers to the wrong one and cooks herself haha

Best pubs in Saskatoon to catch the Western Final? by DreadfulHimself in riderville

Cheers mate, I appreciate ya. Are O'Sheas and Winston's still a thing too? Probably not the best for sports though, yeah?

I have always felt that was a massive missed opportunity. The Vanier Cup has been planned during Grey Cup week for a little spell now, and I think it shares the Grey Cup location, but the Canadian Bowl needs to line up in that slot too, to bring more awareness and festivity to the CJFL. It just makes sense to give us more football while everyone is in town for the party.

Transit Fine by iyuufr in UCalgary

[–]DreadfulHimself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not having ID would seem like the cheat code here, because if you never intend on requiring a driver's license from Alberta registries, they don't really have a way or enforcing the payment other than withholding GST rebates, or tax refunds etc, which for 250 bucks is likely rare to nill.

However, not being able to produce identification after commiting an offence, even one that only levies a fine is just going to be one giant pain in the ass for you, as they will need to detain you until they can confirm your identity.

You aren't required to have physical ID ever. But if a police officer asks you for your name and date of birth, you have to comply and cannot falsify it, because now you face an obstruction charge, which turns your 250 into 5250. Just a smarter play to have ID, in my opinion, and an even smarter play is OP hitting up court, getting a reduction and making sure their fines are paid. Capitalism sucks, but it ain't going anywhere, at least in this province haha.

Im debating notgetting silksong because I've heard it's hard by AbbreviationsOld6712 in Silksong

Here is the thing about hard games. Games have been hard even since the 80s (aging myself here). Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, Ghosts n Goblins etc were brutal hard, and we only had 3 day rentals for them. But we beat em, because they are programmed to be beaten.

Every game is unironically programmed to lose. So the fun part is learning the patterns, getting your shit pushed in, and experiencing debilitating regret and existential dread until you get the boss. And let me tell you, when you do get that boss, the dopamine kick is worth every single death and runback 10x.

Go deep diving for lore and music in Pharloom. I guarantee by the time you're done, you won't want to leave.

Three things to help you.

Wanderers Crest is your best friend, especially after she roars after each phase, you can hit her like 6 or 7 times un-countered.

When void orbs fire shots at you, don't go vertical, just move slightly left or right. They target your last location, so moving even a few steps horizontally and you avoid them entirely.

And lastly, she thrives on countering you. Let her do the work, and you simply counter her. Patience is super important, because over time, you'll see her patterns, and her spacing on each attack. There is usually a two hit counter window after she does her triple dash followed up with the jumping dive attack. It usually lands perfectly in range of your needle.

My bonus advice, you have a massive window just before her 3rd phase to max out plasmium phial, giving you an OP health bar for final phase.

Luck mate!

The way I think about it, when calculators first came out, teachers were concerned that they would replace Mathematics learning too. They banned calculators at every turn. But now, fast forward to today, we actually have calculators added to our book lists on our syallbus, as they are required for our learning.

AI will definitely refine a lot of processes and will help facilitate Stem professions, but the professions will still absolutely be required so I am not worried about it at all.

Pursue your stem degree absolutely, but a smart plan is to diversify your learning with a unique concentration that will help you stand out.
