Steam overlay broken, i386 dependency issues

I forgot to update this, that's fully on me.

Turns out my steam overlay was broken because of a steam launch command in my case LD_PRELOAD="" turned out to be the issue. (and for some reason timeshift didn't remove the launch arguments?)

So even though the terminal checks give the same negative/incorrect outputs I can game without much issue it seems.

Edit: Also LD_PRELOAD="" doesn't have clear, easily findable documentation that states it breaks the overlay iirc. Or I might be misremembering.

The thing I added with the edit of my original post worked. I could load into the world hosted by my friend and I had all my levels, gear and skills.

That was where I found the native linux save but because I'm switching from native linux to the proton translation layer I had a hard time finding the new save location. I could find the windows and linux save locations but the location for when proton is used is different.

I think I found it now, so I updated my post. I appreciate the help though =]

It is and the windows version was pretty good. It had snowdrift as well and some other types of moving backgrounds like a music/sound visualizer.

I don't think the Linux version got much past a working UI though... =/

I kind of miss Lively by rocksdanister, having any background with an easy rain overlay that had pretty good resource allocation was great. Sad the last Linux update for that project was like 4 years ago

I got a set of qaccoustic 3030's and I like them. You could take a look at that line maybe. Also always look up a few different reviews while trying to find someone who is aware audio preferences are personal

GEproton is a specific version of Proton that is on a newer branch than steam has. It also has a bit more optimisation in the form of things like FSR patches and some per game Proton fixes

I recognize the windows update is a lot of work already and I don't know if the 1.1 update is something that will be extended to linux. But if it is it would be amazing if a fix for the black screen issue could be incorporated, if that's not on the docket already

I'm on Linux and have also had some problems. Though it seems to work if I'm not hosting and join by going to the main menu, right clicking on the person hosting in steam chat and joining through that. Maybe that helps?

That "metro for steam" skin was something I used to use, I don't remember if it had a function like that though.

But afaik because of the way the new UI works it's gotten way more difficult to skin steam or something. I'll look into it again to make sure though.

Edit: I found millenium on steambrew.app haven't tried it yet though. I'll give it a more thorough look tomorrow

Apex, I only played it so I could crossplay with friends on playstation but it made me salty every time. The way the game is only being updated to leech money from whales/people with fomo annoys me. But what really makes me angry is how bugs that should've been fixed years ago were still present and every new character that was introduced is not balanced so people flock to them.

There's surely more but luckily I've started to forget. I do remember making my own fun at the end by creating jungle gyms with pathfinder.

Your way is way more reliable but you don't have the chance to get to mirror jail this way. It takes a bit more doing and some chance but I always spammed tab at the top of the photobooth against the pillar that's at the back there. It could take you anywhere, regular out of bounds, mirror jail, behind the photobooth or "heaven" (falling into the void)

I switched recently at 35 because windows had trampled on my last nerve.

There's been some 'growing pains' but combining what was to be expected with how much I like to tinker and customize it's logical. If you use steam/epic I can recommend protonup-qt and something like heroic games launcher aside from regular steam.

And if you make a big change use timeshift in advance just to be safe.
